FO9513-BRK Micro 40 Whistle

I bought this whistle after reading a recommendation on a survival forum. I went looking because my old go-to emergency whistle had broken unexpectedly. Which was a bit shocking. I mean, what good is a metal whistle if there’s a little soft plastic piece inside that can shift and make the whistle unusable when you need it to work? Long story short this whistle is all one-piece, so there aren’t any failure points, it’s small enough for pocket carry, and loud enough that it literally hurt my ears when I was testing it. Waaay louder than my last emergency whistle. 5/5

I found this whistle from dog trainers who call their pups with it. So I tried it on the soccer field. Pea less, so does not clog. Works great. The only positive/negative is the sound goes out the sides (rather than the normal "up" - gets the players' attention, but also goes directly into your ears! Always nice to have an alternative sound to the referee on the next field; this is it. Also carries nicely in the pocket for backup when you drop your main whistle(s).

My wife is a teacher and uses this maybe twice a day during the school year. She was going by a chair and lightly brushed it--the part that goes on the keychain broke! I bought 2 of these and never opened the 2nd one. Months later, I can't send either back. I may put packing tape on the new one to reinforce the cheap plastic these whistles are made with.

Very loud and light weight.

Just as loud as a regular Fox40. But, fit better in my shirt pocket.

I’m an Ocean Lifeguard on the Florida Atlantic coast and beach goers can hear this 50 plus yards away from the tower even with red flag surf conditions.

Suena bien, pero se oxida el anillo a los pocos días. Deberían ponerle uno de acero inoxidable. Estamos hablando de los mejores silvatos del mercado. Si no reemplazo el anillo pronto, en menos de un año se corta y pierdo el silbato.
