Strikingly neat little Lego dragon
I bought this for my now 6 year old son, who loves the Lego Ninjago theme. As you may know, Ninjago has a bunch of dragons in the overall storyline, with the four elemental dragons (ice, fire, lightning, and earth) playing a pivotal role in the second season (ninjas versus serpentines). Unfortunately, by the time we got around to Ninjago, the kits with the elemental dragons were already out of production, and some had spiked in price by 400%(!) on the secondary market. The four-headed Ultra Dragon could (and as of this writing) can still be found in a retail set (Epic Dragon Battle), but that one is between $90-100.The Golden Dragon comes from the third season (ninjas versus stone warriors and the Overlord), and at around $25, it's a much more accessible price point. My 6 year old, who has some experience with Legos, put it together by himself without any help and without getting frustrated, so the build seems fairly straightforward. The "blades" that make up the wings can spread or narrow, and there are a number of joint points that allow it to be put into different poses. It comes with a small green ball that can be launched from the mouth; beware that, like most small objects, this can and probably will go missing, giving rise to cries of "I lost my green ball and I need it!!!"The kits has two minifigures: a golden ninja (which is Lloyd) and a stone warrior. The stone warrior is kind of non-descript and definitely not as fun as the serpentines who came in the previous releases. The golden ninja is distinctive and I believe can be found only in this set.

Cool collectible
The media could not be loaded. I remember being elementary school and this toy was only $19.99 at target (I bought it back then), now 10 years later its over $100!!!! Thats crazy but I still love it

Any Ninjago fan knows...
I purchased this item as a gift for a Ninjago enthusiast and am extremely satisfied with the purchase. Although my nephew is 5 years old and the product clearly states the toy suitable for an older child, I do not regret this purchase. It made for opportune time of putting together the dragon, where my nephew organizes the bits and hands me the necessary parts. He can go on and on about the different ninjas and spinjitsu all while watching and occasionally placing bits where needed.PROs:-opportunities to learn-helpful guides-easy to connect partsCONs:-as with all Lego sets, small parts that must be monitoredI made the purchase and am accountable for any lost bits. I am satisfied with this set and would recommend for any Lego Ninjago fan.

Awesome!
It is an awesome building toy. I know it is targeted for kids 8-14, but I got it for my 6 y/o boy, who loves to build and loves Ninjago. He enjoyed it tremendously. He just needed a little help, but was able to do it almost by himself. The booklet is very clear, as all Lego's are, explaining the steps. It is a high quality toy. It can move smoothly and doesn't fall apart easily. It might get frustrating loosing the ball, but other than that I would highly recommend it.

well done, LEGO
I'll admit it--I grew up with old fashioned legos that you just build whatever your little mind can dream up, so I didn't really *get* these new sets where they are designed to build just one very specific thing. Seemed like kind of a waste to me.I got this set for my son's 6th birthday, since he just loves Ninjago right now, and it has helped me understand the benefit of these sets. Instead of viewing it like free-form legos, I now see them as kind of a puzzle. I really enjoyed helping my son find the right pieces and watch him put them together following the instructions, and now he has this super cool Ninjago dragon toy. So I like having this dragon toy for him, and really appreciate the process of allowing my son to put it together himself. Very cool.My son really is thrilled with this set. He loves the Golden Ninja, the dragon, the bad guys. . . he was a bit disappointed that the catapult doesn't really launch the little lego dudes across the room, but overall, just very pleased.

Good gift for young people
This worked well for a young man who is very creative and enjoys Legos. It is even better when you can use Amazons drop shipping for gift giving.

Excellent set, holds together we'll even with mild play
I bought 2 of these back when the price was a reasonable thirty bucks. For that price it is an excellent set. Both my kids loved this and one of them liked it enough that it went up on his keeper shelf instead of in the community Lego bin.A good rule of thumb is approximately 10 to 15 cents per Lego piece is a good deal for a Lego set. Unless it has a Lot a really specialty pieces like animals, dinosaurs, etc. Then you'll look to pay a little bit more than that.

very unique set
This is by far a very unique set of Lego my son has gotten so far. The dragon is amazing when you put it together and my son just had to have the Golden Ninja character. Very beautiful and colorful set. We wanted to get the most since we heard that Ninjago is retiring most of the sets to begin with. Its easy to put together as you follow instructions. Its not like Star Wars Death star which tends to be a few months project. We had an hour at least to put together the dragon. Very impressed and happy to have given this to my son.
