Absolutely works
Never thought I'd have a strong desire to give a raving review to a bag of something so foul smelling - but this thing works. I've actually been more disgusted by some of the reviews I've read - so I'll give some tips, too. First, why I bought it. I have two very large dogs who are trained to do their business in a gravel area. Because I'm apparently lazy enough to allow their poop to accumulate for 1-2 weeks, I started getting a fly problem. What I learned - a fly problem is a SANITATION PROBLEM. If I picked up their poop every day I wouldn't have a fly problem! This leads into my tips. TIPS- 1) If you have flies, enough that you are thinking about getting this thing, you have a SANITATION PROBLEM. Some people are aware of it and, like me, are looking for control. That's what this is for. Ideally, you will (possibly in conjunction with this) fix whatever other disgusting mess is attracting flies in the first place. 2) Indoor use? See above! If you have lots of flies in your house - you have a serious indoor sanitation problem that needs your immediate attention! I can't imagine anyone living in a home with this thing. 3) How it works - you trim along the dotted line with scissors which allows you to pull up the trapping part (which you will attach to something to hang it to) then fill to the line with water. There is a bag of some VERY FOUL SMELLING stuff in there that is like crack for flies, they love it. They generally prefer the bag over dog poop, so I'd say it smells worse than dog poop - at least equally bad. 4) There is a tiny loop at the top you use to hang it. I use a small zip tie then hang to a bungee cord. I strongly recommend you think about how you're going to hang it before you put the water in. It can't just be set down while full of water without spilling - and the last thing you want to do is spill this nasty water! 5) How long does it last? Until it's full! This thing is disposable, people! For me, it's almost full in a week. 2 weeks is the maximum I'd have it out and by then it's completely full of flies such that no more can enter and maggots are crawling around inside. If you have this thing long enough that it dries out, get it together and see "SANITATION PROBLEM" above. 6) How to dispose of it. After it's full, not more than 2 weeks after you set it out, get a gallon size zip lock bag (or two). While it's still hanging, place inside the bag. Carefully take off whatever is hanging on and seal in the bag. I double bag it and put it in the trash on garbage day. 7) Where to put it. Originally I put it right over the dog run. Worked great but was too close to my house and I got the occasional whiff when I opened my back door. I moved it about 40 feet away (to the back of my property) and it still seems to attract the flies away from the poop. 8) Who is for & other options. This is for someone in process of fixing a temporary sanitation problem or who wants convienent ongoing control. If you have something like a chicken coop that you're looking for control around or if you don't like to throw away plastic - they make a reusable container. I've seen a guy who has one, pours a beer in it, then once it's full dumps it out and let's his chickens eat the dead flies. They seemed to love it.

Little Bag of Horrors
I really dislike flies but flies really like our back yard. Flies would get so bad that we couldn't sit outside to enjoy morning coffee. After looking at various products I decided to give this this one a try. I can honestly say I've never had a product do what it claimed it would do better than this simple little death trap. The install was easy. Find a location out of reach of pets, hang it up and add water. I agree with others that you do NOT want to hang this thing inside because of the smell(!), but it's OK as long as it is placed at least 10' away from people, preferably downwind. After a couple days it was catching flies in fine style. They buzz around during the day until they drift off into eternal sleep when it gets cold at night. Next morning the trap is back in business (back in buzzness?) when the sun comes up and it welcomes new guests. No need to leave a credit card for incidentals since new guests only last one day. I just came from the yard and my trap is teeming with flies -- at least a couple dozen inside -- and there are so many flies buzzing around outside the trap entrance that I almost called Air Traffic Control to help getting them all inside. I mean, really! OK...this part may be a little bit gruesome. How do I say this? These traps are Little Bags of Horror. The top part of the bag is clear enough to see through but from the "fill to here" line down it is opaque and for good reason. Floating on top of the water are an unknown number of dead flies. On top of them are the soon to be dead flies. But then I looked closer. There was something at the bottom of the bag. Could it be.....eggs??????? UCK!!!! The bottom of the bag is filled with fly eggs!! Eeewwww!!!! It's a grotesque, wriggling Halloween nightmare. This is not just a fly trap. It is a flycidle, serial killing death machine that wipes out generations of flies! So...does it work? You betcha, but keep it high an away from people and pets. Now if they can only come up with something this good for ants!!!

NO BETTER FLY TRAP!
I live close to the woods, have two dogs, and spend a lot of time outdoors. Needless to say, flys love our patio area and yard. I decided that I needed to find a fly trap that would work well, so I ordered three types. I ordered this one, another bag one that was much larger, and one of the ones that look to be a cup. I set all three up in my yard at different locations (but similar proximity to my house) to see which one was better. The results were easily seen! The cup fly trap came in second place, but was easily knocked over and my dog seemed to like to get into it. It caught some flys, but not the most. The larger fly trap had a stench that started to come from it after about 4 or 5 days... so bad that I moved it back further from my house. However, it caught the least amount of flys (still a lot, but a lot less). Now, on to this fly trap: I was literally amazed by this product. Within one week the trap was full to the top with flys. It was so full, that there was no more room for flys. It was pretty gross, but that's what I expect it to do. There wasn't the nasty smell as there was with the other bagged product and the end results were simply amazing. I don't think that a fly trap can do better than this one, so I highly recommend this one as opposed to the others. The only downsides are that you have to partially assemble it (but that only takes 1 or 2 minutes) and that it doesn't come with a string to hang it. However, I will gladly assemble it and attach a string for how effective it was! I actually bought this through Amazon (see the label), so you know that this isn't an auto-review. This product is just that good! For the price, it can't be beat!

Very effective fly trap
worked very well and caught a lot of flies. I will definitely buy again because of it's effectiveness and the number of flies in my yard.

Espectacular! Funciona perfectamente.

I bought a few of these Rescue! along with another similar brand recently. I started with the Rescue! Product and was amazed at the instant results. The flies immediately are attracted to this trap and once they go in, that’s it. Each one has lasted me a week and I’m sure I could go longer but I throw them out on garbage day. The best part is how to get rid of them. You simply use a large freezer ziploc bag and place it inside. Zip it up and toss in garbage. The other similar product I purchased was not very good. The bag that u fill up with water is very thin and came with 2 holes in it. The water and bait leaked out immediately and therefore was useless. As well due to the larger size, it is harder to dispose of as you have to use a plastic grocery bag or similar to put it in and then somehow seal it well before tossing in garbage. You need to seal well or flies will swarm now to your garbage. I use these on the back side of my house as neighbour has dog and they don’t clean up the crap and therefore the flies are bad. I would not use this too close to a spot you want to be near as their is a smell to the product especially after you get a few thousand flies in it. It’s crazy how this thing works!

Doesn’t work at all

I bought another fly trap, and this one is actually excellent. It doesn’t kill the flies, but it attracts and traps them in one area, pulling them away from the rest of the space. Once it’s set up, the flies leave you alone. One thing to note: it has a smell, so it’s best to place it about 20 feet away from where people gather. It works best outdoors. My suggestion is to use this trap to gather the flies, then use a fly spray to kill them while they’re concentrated around it. The combination works very well. Overall, I recommend buying it.
