TradMallMini Travel Umbrella, Portable Lightweight Compact Parasol with 95% UV Protection for Sun & Rain

If you need a compact umbrella that is hard to open/close this is for you. Even with my adult strength I struggled, my kid couldn’t do it at all. Good size for a child to use while waiting for the bus but they won’t be able to close it and store away. The strap that wraps around the umbrella when folded is almost too short, you have to pull hard to get the Velcro to connect and the single stitch line on the fabric means it will rip quickly. Not impressed.

The perfect umbrella. Great color and easy for travel. Though when I opened up my umbrella for the first time I noticed a snag.

Like the dark under side, shades well for sun.Sturdy, well made, but light enough it could maybe be blown in very windy weather. However being that it is compact, it can fit in a carry on bag or decent size purse easily, which was my intention. Chose yellow, very pretty yellow at that!

This is a cute little mini umbrella, would be good for travelling or if you only want something tiny to fit in a purse or handheld bag. My only big issue is the color. I specifically ordered it because of how cute and vibrant pink it was in the display pictures, and it isn't. I attached pics of the umbrella and a an actual pink sock to show "true" pink. Id call the umbrella more of a dusty roseish color? Its a little hard to open and close, but that's not a huge huge issue for me. Its pretty okay but I'm returning it, just wasn't the right color for me lol.

Been using it to walk to and from class it does the trick, nice color easy to open and close. It does the trick I don't feel like my skin or clothes are burning under the sun, the only issue I have is I don't think it will hold up on a windy day doesn't feel too sturdy and I'm too chicken to try it out on sunny and windy day.

They seem like promo items, they are cheap feeling, not very big, and don’t appear to be sturdy at all, however my daughters needed them for school today, so sending them back was out of the question. Just not what I expected at all.

This umbrella is so cute. It's the perfect size for me. It may not be quite as sturdy as other umbrellas I own but I believe it will work really well for me to use for sun protection only. I don't think I'll use it during high winds...I wanted something small and lightweight. Others have stated that they weren't able to re-fold it and get it back into its case. I had no problem folding mine and getting it back into the case (but I'm also an expert at folding fitted sheets so they end up as perfectly flat squares or rectangles...lol). Just use the crease lines of the umbrella as a guide for re-folding and twist the sections together tightly after folding all sections. The velcro fastener will fit around it if you've ended up with a tight tube shape. The umbrella fits nicely in my purse. I'll keep with me all the time during the summer months. Good mini umbrella and exceptional customer service (replaced broken product within a day). I have not used it for rain (i think it would be too small to provide good coverage) but works pretty good in the sun as sun blocking and very small and compact. Works ok in a nominally windy day but won't hold up to heavy winds. My big gripe and it's huge is the handle is very small and uncomfortable to hold for long periods of time so if you are going to use it for extended periods of time that could be an issue, having said that it's still a worthwhile buy for the price.

I bought these umbrellas after reading the amazing comments and I'm glad that the product has definitely impressed me. The package came in perfect. The umbrellas are tiny but since they are four-fold, they open in just a perfect canopy. It rains a lot in Vancouver and so this is a must have. As a person who holds tiny purses this umbrella is definitely a life saver. Its compact, lightweight, and although being manual maybe a little togh for some people it's definitely worth it. The material is amazing too.Definitely a must have. Super cute too.

Does its job and is useful in rain and sun. Only reason I didn't give it full stars was because it's a manual open/close and was a bit difficult to fold neatly to tape close the velcro as the material was a bit thick.

After using this item one time it broke. The medal handle snapped. Very disappointed. The handle is thin and week considering my 9 year old is who opened the umbrella and it snapped. Amazon was great and I got a full refund.

A crude test to check whether a fabric can efficiently block light (and therefore UV) is to hold the fabric up close to your face, face an intensely bright light source, and look through it to see whether any light passes through the weave of the fabric.I did this test with the umbrella (black) against the bright summer sky and found in the fabric no visible perforations that would allow light to pass through from the other side. For reference, denim, apparently, has a UPF value of 1700, and if you peer in closely, some light can still pass through its weave. As such, I'm very satisfied with the value of this umbrella.Note though, that the fabric is ever so slightly glossy, as most synthetic fabrics are, so, while the umbrella should, in good faith, be able to fully block incident rays of sunshine, the underside of the fabric will still reflect back onto the user a fair amount of the UV that itself is reflected from the surfaces of miscellaneous things in the vicinity.That said, this is a physical property unavoidable in all materials that are not pieces of vantablack engineering. The intensity and wavelength of the radiation that can be reflected from a fabric depend on the physical properties specific to the material and dyes used in the fabric's construction.All in all, I'm extremely happy with what I got at this price point. This umbrella's light-blocking ability surpasses even Fulton's summer parasols, which I've tested out before in-stores.I only wish that the canopy were a bit wider in diameter. I'm too old-fashioned to get on board with the auto-open (and impossible-to-close) mechanisms on modern umbrellas, and this seems to be the one of TradMall's only products to have a manual mechanism. However, closing this umbrella was, surprisingly, a breeze, so it's tempting me to try out their wider-brim selections.
