Wisdom Tales from Around the World (World Storytelling)

Fun to read, morals to learn, from many cultures, many civilizations, probably even 5000 years old.I remember reading many of these stories as a child from various sources, in various languages. This book has put them together in simple English.If you want a better world for your children, and wish they grow up to be good and wise humans, give them this sort of books to read at a young age, or read these stories for them.I liked how the author modified the stories and added short rhymes at the end. It is easier to memorize them.I wish people would write more such nice tales and make more of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood sort of show. Now a days there is way too much crazy and violent material on TV shows, cartoons, comic books, toys and video games, that is bad for the kids, we all know.We have to act; Please give them something good.Knowledge and peace to the world!DRRS

I am a school counselor and discovered that not only the students enjoyed the stories but the teachers did too. A good way to introduce children to different cultures while learning important lessons in life. The stories were excellent starting points for quality and thoughtful dialogue.

I tell stories to elementary students as a volunteer. This is a great resource with stories that allow students (and teachers) to discuss the messages as well as be entertained.

Nice value, smooth transaction, this was a good value and a nice tool to use as you study genres in the classroom with your students and need examples.

What a wonderful book! I read a few of these to my 9 yo son at bed time each night. We take a moment to think about each one and then talk about it. It has really opened up the lines of communication between us and encouraged him to think about what he values. Love it!

I have really enjoyed this book. I teach Adult English for students studying for their GED. We have used many of these tales for class material.

I heard a summary of one of the stories from a speaker and thought it sounded interesting. It will make for some good illustrations when I need a global illustration. It's helpful to hear wisdom from other traditions other than just the western.

A fantastic collection.

This is a used book. It’s stamped and taped all over from a public library in Illinois. It was dirty and the pages bent in the top right corner.Not impressed.
