Excellent Resource
This honest review of the contents and approach has been given in exchange for an inspection copy of the text in both eBook and physical formats.Overall, this book is a very useful supplementary tool for language learning, and as such is not intended to be used as stand-alone course.I have reviewed 2 complete sets of this course (1-4 in German and 1-3 in Polish) and have identified a number of positive aspects of this resource.There are a number of positives to point out about this book:- Based on the Pareto principle for which it gives a simple and through description of the methodology and reasoning behind the principles use in this book.- Contains 2525 words in each book in frequency order.- Words given in frequency order based on an extensive database.- Simple in its approach and is not baffling in layout or presentation of information.- Each word comes with its word class (Noun, verb, adjective etc), common definition of that word and a phonology transcription of how that word is said.- Each word has its use illustrated via a useful sentence so the word can be seen in context in both Polish with an English translation.- The Polish editions have a useful feature in that they include the aspectual pairs in brackets (a key feature of the Polish language)- The book also highlights where a work may have a grammatical function e.g. się – self (Reflexive marker).- The eBooks work comparably well to the physical copies and as such are a useful tool for mobile learning.- The book has different sections based on need i.e. A-Z of words based on frequency, words ordered into class such as nouns, verbs, adjectives etc alongside their frequency number.- Has an alphabetical ordering at the end of the book with corresponding frequency number.From my experience with Polish this book is an invaluable tool to supplement your language learning and is worth the investment.

Useful tool - formatting could have been better.
I am starting to try to learn Polish again for the nth time and I think this will help me target words and translations easily to add the most common words in use to my vocabulary. I am not in a position at the moment to have the texts checked by a native speaker as per a previous comment but have noticed another issue with the proof reading/formatting which has resulted in losing one star. In a book like this which is structured a Polish word on one line along with the English translation opposite then a couple of lines with a sample sentence written in both languages to see the word used in context it is vital that these are on the same page however within this volume over 50% of the pages have the word on one page then you have to turn the page to see the sample sentence. Its not much but becomes tiresome if you have to keep turning the page back and forth. I think that at proof reading stage this should have been noted and the entries forced onto the same page.

Mistakes, pricey.
Can be helpful in conjunction with additional materials. Minor transition inconsistencies. The word “jest” (is) has been completely missed out (one of the most used polish words). For £29 this is a bit frustrating.

A few mistakes
The book is good but I believe I have already found a couple of mistakes where the Polish phrase and the English translation do not match. There was an extra word in one that was not present in the other. I have checked this with a native Polish speakerIt is a shame because otherwise I find the book useful, but with something like a dictionary careful proof reading is vital
