My FAVORITE Jillian Yet!
I absolutely love-love-LOVE this workout! It seems to me that Jillian took a lot of feedback she received in regards to her other workouts, specifically 30 Day Shred, and used the praise/criticism to create this incredibly effective workout. There are several changes she made that I really liked:1) The workouts are *slightly* longer than 30 Day Shred, I think because the warm-up and stretching parts are a little longer and more involved.2) LOTS of new moves are incorporated here! You'll see some familiar exercises, such as side lunges and lunges w/ bicep curls, but Jillian did try to throw in some new stuff that is still very effective. She also claims that she doesn't repeat ANY moves in any of the other levels. I've only gotten through level 1 so far, but I'll take her word for that.3) In the strength circuits, there are 3 different moves per circuit as opposed to just 2. I personally appreciated this because it allows for more variation, plus in the past I have had trouble doing 1 strength move for a full minute and now you do each strength move for 30 seconds. Very nice!4) I felt like towards the end of circuit 3, things began to cool down a bit - for example, Jillian finishes the final abs circuit with crunches and reverse crunches, which aren't the most difficult ab moves. In her previous videos she pushes you hard throughout the end, which some people may prefer, but for people like me who have been craving a bit of a cool-down without sacrificing extra time, this is beneficial.5) I like Jillian's assistants in this video. Some of you might be familiar with Basheera, who I originally liked a lot in 6 Week 6-Pack. Basheera is Jillian's advanced assistant once again, and I could tell even in level 1 she was getting winded and very tired. Fortunately she did not CHEAT, like Jillian's other advanced assistant in 30-Day Shred.7) Jillian takes a lot of time and care in instructing form, which is crucial. In the strength circuits, some of the moves are conducted more slowly, but this is not to make it easier - it is to help you concentrate on form! The slower pace gave me more time to sink down lower and really concentrate on what I was doing. I felt in some of Jillian's other workouts, they would fly through some of the strength moves and I would be struggling to keep up and would instead exercise with poor form. This is NOT the case with this newest video!6) The music is much, much better!Ripped in 30 is by far my favorite Jillian Michaels workout video. I will continue to do it every other day and will throw 6W6P and the Shred in the mix as well. This is a very tough workout but it is enjoyable and goes by quickly. Totally recommend to ANYONE, whether you are beginner, intermediate, advanced, young or old, looking to lose weight or looking to stay in shape. You will NOT regret it!*PS* - I have now lost 30+ lbs. using various Jillian Michaels workouts, 6 of those being lost after I started Ripped in 30, which I got just over a week ago! I am also much stronger, much more flexible, and no longer have pain from a wrist injury I sustained a couple of years ago. Really, if I can achieve all that, I'm sure anyone else out there can.

Recommended for getting stronger and more physically fit - not just for weight loss
I just finished Ripped in 30 yesterday, and I loved it! Now for some details:I did the DVD workout by repeating each workout for a week. I started on Sunday and went through Saturday, taking one or two days off during the week. I planned on one day off during the week because I read a review of a study that stated that people perform better when they take one day off per week. I took the extra day off in week one because I got too busy and I took an extra day off in week 4 because my knee was creaking a bit and I wanted to give it a break.Space requirements: minimal, but there is jumping so you may not want to do it on a floor above someone who is sleeping.Equipment requirements: handweights; I used 3 and 5 pound hand weights, but I would have gone up to 8 for some things if I had owned them. Around the beginning of week 4 I bought an exercise mat because I had previously been working out on concrete with a carpet remnant on it and that was not enough cushioning.Me: I was a little different than other reviewers because I didn't really want to lose any weight. I wanted more muscle and a better body composition, since I basically quit working out a year ago when we moved - just never got back into the habit. But my husband and I are going on a trip that will require a bit of strength and the ability to do some general physical things that I just didn't feel I had, so my real goal was to get "in better shape," but I had to be sure not to get injured and ruin my trip. We're trying to save money, so we just recently cancelled our never-used gym membership, and I'm honestly glad we did! I love group fitness classes, but I honestly can't find the 20 minutes to drive to and from the gym and 30 minutes to have a workout. That's over an hour when I can be done with these workouts in under 35 minutes and then take a shower in my own house.The workouts: You can read all about the workouts in different reviews. I thought that they were great. I did 30-Day Shred some years ago, and I thought that Jillian described the exercises in these workouts better than she described those. Some people have mentioned not liking to do the same workout for a week - well, I loved it! I started off the week not able to really do everything in the workout, and by the end of the week, I was able to complete most things without any modifications and some things with the advanced modification. I was able to move up in weights a bit, too.My results: Did I get Ripped in 30? Well, kind of! I am a total pear shape, and carry very little body fat above the level of my navel, so I can see good muscle definition developing in my arms and back and upper abs. I asked my husband about my arms to make sure that I was not imagining things, and he agreed that they look good, with significantly more muscle showing (he had commented on my "stick-like" arms a couple of months ago, so I know he notices these things). My legs... I think one reviewer said that her legs got bigger. I didn't measure mine, so I don't know. I still have too much fat on them to really see any muscle definition there, but their shape is definitely much better than it was. They feel much firmer, too, and when I sit down in a chair my thighs continue to look like legs and don't look like resting bread dough. So while I wasn't going for weight loss, and actually lost 0 lbs, I feel great about the physical changes I have seen. For those who are looking to lose weight, I am sure that if I did not reward myself for working out with an entire month of eating whatever I felt like whenever I felt like it, I would have lost weight. Did I get what I wanted to - in better shape for our upcoming trip? Yes! I feel much more confident for this trip. I am definitely stronger and more agile than I was before, with better cardiovascular endurance. I feel ready, and still have over a week to go.UPDATE: In spite of not working out very much over the next couple of days after I finished Ripped in 30, I actually lost two pounds just by returning to the sort of healthy way I was eating before. I'd like to think it's my extra muscles eating up those calories before they can make it to my fat cells!

Jillian-like: Fantastisch!
Wie schon einige meiner Vorgänger-Bewertungen schrieben: tolles, sehr intensives Workout. Weniger für komplette Anfänger geeignet, aber wer den Stil von J.M. mag, wird diese DVD lieben!Ich persönlich mag es, wenn man sich mal richtig auspowern kann, der Puls bis ins Unermessliche hoch geht, man fast stirbt und wenn selbst die verhasstesten Übungen nach und nach zu den Lieblingsübungen werden (Ich sag nur 2 Minuten in der Plank-Position und dazu Plank-Jacks und Mountain Climbers :D). ABER wie gesagt, man muss es mögen, bereit sein sich auszupowern und die Übungen so gut es geht vollständig durchziehen. Ich liege danach immer klitschnass auf der Matte und ringe um Luft....genau das liebe ich! Ich denke dann kann man definitiv recht schnell mit sehr guten Ergebnissen rechnen. Bereits nach 2 Wochen fühle und sehe ich meine Körperveränderungen. Ich trainiere min. 5 mal/Woche und kombiniere mit Cardio/HIIT.Here we go, der Sommer kann kommen :)

・脂肪撃退プログラム(紫パッケージ)・30日間集中ダイエット(赤パッケージ)・ダンベル・ダイエット(橙パッケージ)・ダイエット・ヨガ(白パッケージ)上記4つのDVDを日々、組み合わせて行っており、どれも休むことなく最後までこなせる程度の者です。ご参考まで。こちらのDVDには25〜30分程度のプログラムが4つ収録されています。1、2は『30日間集中ダイエット』の内容とほぼ変わりませんが、ちょっとずつ動きが違っていたりするので、新たな気持ちで運動できるかもしれません。3つめが一番キツかったです。『脂肪撃退プログラム』は控え目な動きが間に入るために、長時間ながらも最後まで続けることができるのですが、こちらは短い時間に激しい動きがギュッと詰まっており、息を整えるための休憩を3回ほどとってしまいました。4つめは『ダイエット・ヨガ』にあるような動きがありました。全体的にゆっくりとした動作が多かったです。短い時間でもしっかり鍛えたい方、キツい運動が好きな方、ジリアン姐さんに魅せられた方にオススメです。リージョン1ですので、プレイヤーのご確認をお忘れなく。
