Not what I was expecting.
Ok… There are just a few things you need to know before you purchase this item. I’ll give my full review following my bullet points.1. The bags come empty. You must purchase your own filler.2. Filling the smaller bag can be difficult depending on your choice of bead/bean/sand.3. The bags are made of quality material.4. It would be great if you could move the provided D clips to another part of the bag. They are not removable. Now for my review…I knew something was wrong when I received the package in the mail. The envelope it came in was very small and flat. To my disappointment, the bags were not prefilled. If you look closely in the items description, you can find where the seller says this. However, it is not in the bold, flashing red neon print that it should be.I read through multiple reviews and found someone that said they used aquarium gravel as filler. This is a logical choice being that substance is not organic and won’t rot like soy beans and unlike sand, I’d designed to be wet if they ever come into contact with water. The smaller of the two bags was difficult to fill. Despite the aquarium gravel being quite small, I still had to force them into the “legs” of the bag . This portion of the item is not completely open. Instead, there is a small hole on either side found on the inner portion of the main compartment. If you are using larger filler or filler that clumps together when pouring, you will probably have a similar result. The bags are made of what appears to be quality material. I have no real concerns regarding craftsmanship or quality control. I have already dropped them (accidentally) from a height greater than five feet and they did not shows signs of rupturing. There are two D clips that are attached to the larger of the two bags. It would be great if you could move them to another side of the bag. Unfortunately, they are sewn in place via a cordura attachment cannot be removed.Overall, I probably got exactly what I paid for. The bags are functional and of recommendable quality. Just be prepared to spend a few extra bucks on filler. If you go with aquarium gravel, this can be cheaply done.Cheers.

Should be useful
These arrive empty and then you fill them with sand, lead shot or pebbles. One potentially affordable idea I've found if you don't have an easy supply of playground sand etc is to go to a big box mart store and buy the brightly colored aquarium gravel in the pet dept. Last time I needed to fill something like this it wound up the easiest to find AND by far cheaper than buying a 25lb or larger bag I don't have any use for.The main body is a decently tough feeling ripstop nylon but the soft black strip at the top & for trim feels like kind of flimsy felt. It definitely won't scratch the finish on a nice wood stock or blued pistol but I'm not certain if it will hold up long term. But considering the very affordable price I won't complain if it fails, just will buy a new one.

You have to supply your own sand
This is a good purchase. You can buy your own sand and fill the bags to your own level of comfort.

This bag has worked well!
I have had no issues with these bags. I read alot of the reviews and took heed. I stuffed them with 10 lbs of rice. When I go to the range, I take a dish towel and lay it over the "V" of the large bag to protect the thin felt material. This has prevented any rips or tears so far.

Works great, but you’ll need to go buy a bag of sand from a hardware store to fill it!
Works great, just didn’t realize you gotta go buy some sand to fill it. Other than that, great canvass material, well stitched and does its job.

Great for rifles but not so great for rifles with 30 round mags.
Caldwell also makes bags specifically for AR-15 style rifles. I bought these but ended up blowing a hole in the bag due to the muzzle blast but they are great for rifles like 308 etc. They are not high enough for a rifle with a large magazine. The mag will hit the table unless you put something under the bags.In any case, they are great and you can just fill them with rice or dirt.If you have an AR style rifle, I would recommend the prefilled Caldwell bags(same company). I got a set and I love them.

Hard to Stuff
It's hard to stuff the smaller shooting bag. What I will call the legs. It has two small round holes for the (Rice) or what ever you will stuff it with to get down and into place. I found just add a little at a time, and poke the finger tip and press down the material. Then with your finger in the hole wiggle it around to move the rice over to the corners and leave a gap to add more to your stiffness! By the time I spent stuffing it and the cost of the cheaper rice, I could have got one already to go. All that being said...I will take to the range tomorrow (Sat) and see how it STACKS up!
