Nancy: Volume 4: The John Stanley Library Hardcover – June 11, 2013

I bought this book for a very special Nancy!Apparently she loves it!

Love the classical-Nancy!

Apparently ‘John Stanley’ is well-regarded by some, but his work here with these Nancy comics is boring. All I could think was ‘I wish Ernie Bushmiller wrote these.The lack of color and image correction make this hard to look at as well.

I haven't been loving Drawn & Quarterly's reprints of John Stanley's work on Ernie Bushmiller's Nancy, but they are often entertaining and show sparks of Stanley's imagination from his classic Lulu days. This volume, like the others, focuses on secondary characters like rich kid Rollo Haveall, strange Oona Goosepimple and bully Spike. I like the varying length of the stories in this volume and enjoyed most the tales that were somewhat fantastical.I wish D&Q would reprint the remaining Stanley Nancy and Sluggo stories.
