I just ordered it, based on reviewers who have successfully microwaved it. My 21-yr-old rubber British bottle has been microwaved dozens of times, under 3 min. at high if half filled. Less time suggested, then work up if needed. The plastic screw top is beginning to fray; that's why I sought a microwaveable replacement. It was helpful to read reviewers who have microwaved to save water.

Q: Read from one review that it smells (even though it is advertised as odorless). Would like further input for buying confidence. At least 5 commenters would be nice.

Mine had an odor when I first opened it. I am extremely sensitive to smells. So I washed the sweater by hand in natural laundry soap hung to dry and washed the outside of the rubber bottle with Dr Bronners. I could still detect the slightest odor ever so faint. That completely faded by 2nd use. I just love it. And I’m ridiculously over sensitive to smells. Just wash it really well and dry well before first use. Everyone who doesn’t enjoy being cold should have one of these.

Q: is it okay to put some boiling water inside?

There’s a warning printed on the bottle that says no boiling water but it looks like others have used near boiling from the kettle. I’m a bit skeptical though because of the warning!

Q: How much does it hold?

Filled to total capacity, this water bottle holds sixty-four ounces. It should be noted that this amount will cause the bottle to be bulky and may not serve the purpose intended. I use mine to heat a pet bed for foster kittens and do not want it to bulge. I fill it to half capacity. I would also like to state that the bottle measures, below the neck, approximately seven and one-half inches wide, by ten and a half inches long. I really need two to line the bottom of the pet bed. I have not been able to find the larger water bottles of my youth. This product works well in terms of heat retention. I simply wish it was larger.
