poor description
this is a well made bracket for it's purpose, however it is not clearly described as one only and usually these are sold in pairs. The price is the same for one as most are for a pair. they need to be sold as a pair because two are needed in any application. Selling only one at the same price as a different one is for a pair is deceptive. i returned the item as i needed two.

Perfect snap up bracket
I am relatively new to camping, about 3 years. The snap up bracket is what I had when I was given it for new camper. Recently purchased a newer load distribution bar set and had different brackets. Hated them. I kept the load distribution bars but I wanted the original style of bracket and have been happy since.

21501 upgrade part # 58392
This standard bracket worked fine for me, but had to replace it 4 times over 16 years because it often bent when loaded heavily. Yes I have bent 4. Last time I ordered this I got the new upgraded heavy duty bracket 58392 with extra reinforcement to prevent my issues. Seems the newer one will withstand my punishment with less likelihood of bending again. So far so good.

Poor quality, thin/stamped material, doesn't attach securely, bends and causes safety issues.
I purchased 2 of these "Reese 21501 Weight Distribution Snap-up Bracket". I made 2 orders because they come as 1 unit, not as a pair, so I spent over $100 for a pair of these. I attached them to the frame of the trailer with the bolts supplied, tightened the bolts, and towed the trailer for about 20 miles. After that short trip, I found that one bracket was loose and bent well out of shape at every 90 degree angle, and the bolt was bent severely, and the other bracket was loose. These brackets just aren't up to the job, and they cost nearly twice what they should. I've attached pictures that show the bracket that is bent, and show the bracket that was replaced before it bent. I replaced the set with a pair from Curt for about half the price. The metal is thicker, isn't 'stamped' to create more strength in thinner material, and they are overall more beefy. No problems with the Curt brackets so far (I have no affiliation with Curt or any manufacturer). I towed the trailer more than a month after I purchased and installed the brackets, so I am past the Returns period. I basically flushed 100 bucks, have one bent bracket, have one bracket that I don't trust, and I bought a whole new set from another brand. I considered Reese to be better quality than this.

Put these snap up brackets on my trailer, I ...
Put these snap up brackets on my trailer, I attached the trailer to the hitch on the truck, put some tension on the chains ( very little tension maybe has to use the bar to lift 3"). got to my destination and the brackets twisted and bent. Not impressed for the price I paid!!!
