Mixed Emotions
I was really excited to read this book because of the information that it would come with. I had mixed emotions because I am European and my baby is mixed with Moor, and I was hoping to get great information in it to support his melanin cells and what will be best for his body! I enjoyed the information in the book about vitamins and the food that comes carrying them naturally, and how certain things affect the body, however it was difficult to finish because it seemed to have an undertone in the entire book that was anti-european (caucasians) rather than pleasantly melanin-supporting. I appreciated how she worked to gain knowledge on the difference that needs to have awareness in the medical industry and higher melanated beings, however there are so-called white people that need to know about these type of things as well (who aren't in the industry) and it was just hard to read. I attempt to seek knowledge everywhere despite people's opinions and intentions behind their teachings, and I attempt to be compassionate, however I feel too. I am grateful for the knowledge on vitamins and minerals and I have highlighted through my book to keep it for referencing, and I do not intend to offend anyone with this review, it was simply my interpretation.

Optimal Nutrition
This book is great. Simply put. The information in the book is priceless. It goes deep into the world of nutrition not only from a food perspective, but also informs you on how your thinking plays a major role in overall nutrition. It has certainly made me more aware of the importance of having nutritional balance in the physical, mental and metaphysical nature.

Fraud alert
I don't know if this book is just a fraud or has been severely edited but I don't trust it and will be returning it. The book talks about niacin in a positive light. I clearly remember Dr. Pookrum saying it was poison to people with melanin. I looked into it and found a few studies that have now been removed from the internet talking about how niacin deactivates melanin throughout the body. It is helpful to those who are non melanined but poison to those of us who are. Only at the end of the book's description does it say melanin dominant people do not require niacin as it has been found in classical nutrition. I don't trust that this is her work.

Essential Nutritional Guide for Every Melanin-Dominant Being and Every Healthcare Professional
This book is a must have for every melanin-dominant person. There are some serious jewels in this book that will help you better arm yourself and protect your health in a medical system designed for melanin-recessive people. This book discusses genetic differences and norms that must be acknowledged. It also discusses vitamins and minerals that are essential to the healthy development of melanin-dominant beings as well as the various sources of these vitamins and minerals. I highly recommend this book to every healthcare professional interested in providing their patients the best individualized care possible as opposed to the one size fits all standard that currently exists in most institutions. I also recommend this book for every melanin-dominant man and woman as an essential guide for superior health and nutrition.

Love the fact how Dr Pookrum breaks down our bodies as a melainin-dominate people and as individuals as women and how we differ... I totally agree with asking the right questions when going to any hospital, just as you would going to a shoe store... Its ok for information but nothing super special. I rate Dr Pookrum and would rather see her live. For now, I'll continue watching her YouTube videos.

It's up to you
Got some decent stuff, but couldnt get through it, it felt rushed and too biased, and some of the research kind of felt like psuedo science.
