Awase Dashi Powder with No MSG (Bonito and Kelp Soup Stock) is one of the best "instant" powder mixes/soup bases I've come across. It is very flavorful with a fresh, authentic and well balanced bonito and kelp taste. And no MSG! YAY! - although I do enjoy its added umami flavor, I'm one of evidently a fair number of people who is sensitive to MSG (among several reactions it really triggers Rosacea flare-ups.) These packets store well in the pantry and are very convenient for use as a soup base for udon or soba and with added miso paste make a lovely miso soup, - also quick and easy for a spur of the moment ramen snack. (ALERT for those with certain dietary restrictions: - although this instant base makes a soup which does not taste very "salty" it is NOT a low sodium product.) I am so pleased with this product, I am a repeat customer.

Dissolves easy, making it perfect to make sauces, broth to make rice, etc... and tastes great

a great flavor and no MSG! I like that it has no additives and is made of natural ingredients. Individual packaging is also useful and makes it easy to store.

Have bought this product twice and i use it to make kew pie mayonnaise. It's what came up in my search for dashi without MSG and so far I love it and will keep buying it.

Although making dashi is pretty easy to make, these packets make it easy to make dashi for quick meals! Doesn’t take salty so I like that I can adjust the taste to my preferences. I’ll definitely buy more when I start to run out!

The product comes with some easy to use sticks that contain the dashi powder. Although the instructions weren't in English it was easy enough to do research and find out how much to use if you don't know. The taste is pretty close to home made dashi and I felt was good quality. However the number of sticks you get is a little pricey. 7 sticks for $5 is over a dollar a stick and I don't think is a great value for what it is. If you have an Asian grocer in your area home made dashi is easy to make and tastes great so I'll go back to doing that. Good product just not worth the price in my opinion.
