A valuable reference!
As a divorce attorney with over 35 years at the bar, I've seen a lot of books written for people thinking about divorce - mostly focused on how to crush your spouse or select the meanest lawyer you can find. This book is different - the focus is on reducing the combat while maintaining a relationship despite the stress of divorce. I give this book to my clients at the first visit, and many have passed it along to their friends. I heartily recommend "How to Avoid the Divorce from Hell..." It may not save your marriage, but it can help you (and your spouse) survive the divorce with your sanity intact.Brad ShortShort & Borth, AttorneysOverland Park, Kansas

This book is great for younger divorces. By the time you are my age, all the issues are resolved. Overall, a great book to read.

A recipe for smooth sailing in rough waters
Divorce is one of the worst things you can personally experience, and Sue Talia's book never minces words or sugar-coats what to expect. Her strategy for navigating the self- and other-imposed obstacles that arise in any divorce will be a constant touchstone for both the man and woman who are parting ways. I particularly appreciated the insight into the court system and how the ever-expanding docket causes unforeseen problems for the couple. Also, knowing what to expect from the various attorneys involved will save thousands in "on the job" learning for all involved. Her writing style and deep knowledge of the system from all angles makes this book a "must-read" for anyone about to begin the divorce process.
