I applied these to my light coloured tan brogues because when it rained or they got wet the water seemed to penetrate leaving dark spots - yes they are brogues but especially on the non patterned plain part of the leather.Purchased this on the backing of the great reviews. Whilst I don't doubt this has worked for others it just doesn't appear to do anything for me. I applied several layers but still no beading or any apparent repellency.2 stars for the ease of application. Disappointing.

Gave my old boots and shoes a new lease of life. Have used it on my new bag and boots with no problems. Seems to be a good product and worth the money.

I love this product it works wonders on my leather Ugg boots and tried it on my leather sofa and it looks brand new. Excellent product

Great product

After suffering a miserable day out in the pouring rain recently when a previously waterproof pair of shoes started to leak badly for no apparent reason, this product turned up at absolutely the right time. Sitting with wet feet was not a great way to visit a good restaurant, and it did rather take the edge off the enjoyment.Those self-same shoes received a dose of special treatment from this product a few days later, after allowing them to dry out thoroughly – that’s really important. Application was very easy, and there was no waste because of the special applicator built into the bottle – I’ve added a couple of photos to show what I mean by this. Most of these products are sprays, and besides being very wasteful they’re actually quite unpleasant to breathe in, so this was a pleasure to use.A couple of hours later (the minimum time is an hour) the shoes were completely dry, and I tested them out shortly afterwards in pouring rain for an hour. Result – an old but very comfortable pair of leather shoes rejuvenated so that they not only looked like new, but behaved like new shoes – with no leaks at all. Magic! And, equally importantly, they’ve stayed waterproof.Very small amounts are needed – a quantity about the size of a penny will do for starters, moving bit by bit over the item to be waterproofed and stain proofed. It acts as a sealer, so as well as waterproofing it will prevent marks and stains. In the case of the shoes, hardly any of the 240ml bottle was needed – so plenty left for any other shoes that start to leak. I received a reviewer’s sample for evaluation, and noticed that leather jackets, handbags, purses, backpacks, seats and saddles are specifically mentioned in the item description too. I’m sure it will work as well for them as it did for my shoes – though extra bottles will be needed if you plan to deal with particularly large items like coats and saddles.The item treated is given a nice clear finish, and the seller warns, I see, that the product has not been tested on soft leatherette or soft surfaces like suede or Nubuck. That seems sensible – I suspect it could make a bit of a mess of suede-like leathers.
