Slicer works well but confusion about brand received.
It does the job very well on real imported Gouda cheese. A slight angle variation makes the slices thinner or ticker. The 'spoon' part keeps the slice of the block your are slicing it from so it does not try to stick back like with wire ones. It feels sturdy so I'm confident it will last me a while. To my surprise I did not receive the Wholeness Home branded slicer listed but one branded (quite blandly) 'Kitchen Essentials Handy Helpers'. The package stated: Distributed by Kole Imports, An American Company - Package and product designed in the U.S.A. The slicer itself however is Made in China. It looks exactly like the product images so I am assuming/hoping it is the same product. Even though one of the answers from purchasers was that this product was made in the USA. One of teh main reasons I purchased it. The product listing itself does not state a country of manufacture so no faulting the seller. Had I known the country of manufacture I would have looked further for a US made one. 1 star deducted for receiving a differently branded slicer and no mention of the country of manufacture.

Pure junk.
It's not entirely the company's fault, but this cheese slicer is badly misrepresented on this site. First of all, contrary to two buyer comments, it's not made in the USA, it's made in China, and states so clearly on the package. Secondly, this product in no way can justify its price. The quality is no better than a cheese slicer you might find in your local 99-cent store. The slicer arrived with visible marks where the blade is soldered or fastened to the handle, and other marks on the blade itself. The handle is lightweight plastic, and the metal is cheap and bends easily. Does it slice cheese? Yeah, well enough. I wanted a durable made-in-the-U.S. product, and both the price and the customer reviews led me to believe that's what I was getting. Instead, I got ripped off with more made-in-China junk. I don't expect this product to last long, but I guess that's a blessing. I'm looking forward to throwing it away and getting a cheese slicer that was made with some respect for the consumer.

Slices Great Before It Breaks
I really wanted to give this more stars, but the quality is just not there. The plastic handle ended up cracking and then just snapping with just a little too much torque. The actual slicer works well, but not so much when the handle breaks. If they could do a better job with the handle, I'm sure this slicer would get rated higher.

It does what it's supposed to do but I am ...
It does what it's supposed to do but I am not a fan. It requires a fair amount of pressure. When you get toward the end of the block of cheese it breaks off a chunk. I'll go back to the wire type cheese slicer.

Economical cheese slicer.
Sturdy. Pleased that it can go in the dishwasher. Nice handle. The blade angle is not like my old one and will take a bit of time to adjust to.

Great slicer, reasonably priced
I bought this cheese slicer to replace a slicer which had cracked where the handle meets the metal after many years of service. This slicer is well made and fits nicely in my hand as I slice cheese. I have only tried it with sharp cheddar and havarti cheeses, but expect it will handle all kinds of cheeses well.

Overall okay but...
Okay but the round Handle gets in the way by hitting the cheese when slicing super thin. Went back to using our flat handle slicer

Not as sharp as I would have liked it to be
Not as sharp as I would have liked it to be. Don't waste your money. I gave it 2 stars because, although I don't like it the quality is good. Nice and heavy. Just not sharp enough. Makes cutting cheese difficult.
