Audio-Technica SonicPro Port ATH-CKM1000 in-Ear Dynamic Headphones

There's a key design flaw about the extension cable. It's not really an extension, you have to use it as it's too short without it. With the extension on, they are too heavy and fiddling for exercising. Now why 5 stars? Because the sound quality is worth 7 stars at this price! I did notice significant improvement about 50 hours. Once opened up, these bad boys have thundering and quality base (make sure to fit them tight), pinpoint precision, and super sweet trebles. Sound stage is very decent thanks to the little holes at the bottom. These are very fun buds especially listening directly from iPhone. I found them superior to my AKG 701 amplified. In summary, for people looking for audiophile quality and not planning to wear them while exercising, these are a steal for the price.

I should really cut two stars. The cable is too short, and the extension cable makes it too long. There is no "just right". And cable management is an important feature. But dude ... they sound amazing ...Revised: I had to cut the 2nd star today. Two more things on the cons list: 1. They fit real snug in my ears and get to hurting after about 20 minutes. I'll probably adapt to them eventually so this isn't the main reason to cut an extra star 2. Any kind of jostling/motion makes the big back bass producing section make low booming bass noise. I ran 4 miles and it was constant agony on my ears. Even walking produced enough bounce to do this.If you plan to use only when still, and can adapt to wearing them in your ears, than they are 5 star. Really truly mind blowing sound! But I had intended to run with them plus earbuds HAVE to be usable in a portable 'I'm going somewhere' mode, right? These aren't.

Although I have seen several reports on the prevailing counterfeit problems of this specific model on the internet, with my trust to Amazon, I still made my order. However, I was soon disappointed by the quality of the ear piece when I got it. Its sound quality is of no similar level to that of my UE900 and K701. Beside on having several features duplicating with the counterfeit reported, the quality of the sound is only at the level of the one comes with my IPhone 4. No sound stage, no treble, distorted bass. To put it more straightly, I got a fake piece from Amazon.

My first impression about the sound is "light and cold". I don't know whether it's just the way ATH is, or this is not a real ATH piece. After 30 hours' play, it's still sounding the same way (no surprise). I figured maybe I can get used to the sound, but no, I'm getting more upset. It sounds like plastic, especially when playing human voice. Nearly no bass can be heard. I'm comparing it with my Sennheiser ck890i & hd380pro, and the in-pack ear bud of my glaxy s4, but just find this CKM1000 is sounding so huge differently, its sound is so shallow. I thought maybe it's due to different focus of different ear phones, like ATH is more focused on hight & mid. Even if this, how can they be so different, that like I'm not hearing the same music? And no matter how I think, listening to this piece is just not a pleasure. I'm now very upset and very sad. Sorry for that, but I just want others to know. I'm now returning it. Will be glad if get some feedback or explanation from whomever.

Amazing sound. Easily handles bass due to larger diameter. Fit is good and balance on the ear feels normal...not like a large piece on your ear. Like most higher end devices, these produce tones rarely heard by standard equipment. Worth the investment to hear what the artist truly intended.

If you listen to some pure instrumental music like Jazz band, classical, new age,etc, you probably will like it.

Beware, Amazon no longer selling this from Amazon's own warehouse, Fakes are everywhere.After careful inspection, I've found some points to detect fakes.1. the case/paper wrap[the one just after the plastic wrap] is really tight, it takes you some time to open the case without destroying the case.2. Compare my first pic and the last one, the last is the real one.Look at the logo and brand name engraved on the leather case, it should be right in the middle(from top to bottom), while the fake one is one line lower.3. Look at the details of the leather case,(pic 2,3,4) looks so horrible.4. It's very very hard to change(install) the earbud.5. seems there is no plastic wrap for the insurance card inside for the fake one.

At the time I received and tried this earbuds, I thought it was great. But for now, I don't think so.I think there is a high chance that it's fake because the right and left earbud are not the same!How could a high-end product be like this!

元々５万円もするイヤホンがいくら安くなったとはいえ、13,500円で買えるとは思っていませんでしたが、おそらく本物だと思います。確認は、商品のケースにあるバーコードをスマホでスキャンし、Amazon、楽天、ヨドバシで確認し、全てヒットしました。この作業を開ける前にやっておくと安心できると思います。肝心な音質ですが、初めて聴いた時にはアレ？なんか少しこもってるなぁ。という印象でしたが、一曲聴き終わるころには少しずつこもりが晴れていきました。けっこう低音に迫力があるため、聴き流しているとブーミーな感じがありますが、解像度が高いため、良く聴くとしっかりと楽器毎の違いも出ています。ジャズなんかを聴くとハイハットやピアノのような高音もきちんと拾ってくれます。当方の環境はiPhone６＋iriverのAK-10ですが、iTunesから48kHzで入れた音源をonkyoのアプリで96kHzまでアップサンプリングしてくれます。この場合、ピアノの演奏者が力強く弾いているところ、そうでないところの違いまで分かります。恐ろしいほどの解像度です。長々と書きましたが、この値段でここまで高音質なイヤホンは滅多にないでしょう。迷われている方、安いうちに買って、ハイエンドサウンドを体験してみては？ご静聴ありがとうございました（笑）

ゼンハイザーのIE80、IE800と同じく、オーテクのCKM1000とCKW1000には偽物が多いです。新品なのにものすごく安かったり、名前も知らないような業者が出品している商品には気をつけたほうがいいです。多少高くてもアマゾンが販売している製品、もしくは実店舗を持つ、信頼できる店舗買うことをオススメします。もちろんすべての業者が偽物を販売しているとは思いませんが、偽物が多いイヤホンであるということは認識した上で購入した方がよいと思います。もし偽物を掴まされても聴覚という繊細かつ主観の入りやすい器官を対象とした商品ですので、偽物であることを証明するにはオーテク直販の店舗に持ち込んで鑑定してもらうくらいしかありません。たとえ返金してもらえても非常に面倒な手間がかかることを考えると、アマゾンなど信頼できて、アフターサービスがしっかりしているところが直接販売している商品を購入することを強く勧めます。
