Burger King Universal Monsters figure: Dracula
When Burger King released their set of four Universal Monster figures in 1997, they were a must get for fans of all ages. Even though I love the 1931 film, this Dracula figure is one of my least favorite of the series. The figure bears a resemblance to the classic Remco figures of the 1980s, and as great as those figures were they had one major issue, they did not have very good likeness' of the monsters. This figure suffers the same fate, this is because the likeness of Bela Lugosi as Dracula to be used as an action figure was not authorized until 2001 with Sideshow's 8 inch figure. The figure looks like a very basic figure, though you can still tell who it is. He has the cape, widow's peak and medallion with red lining. Dracula's head and hands also glow in the dark. I'm counting 3 accessoties here, which is kind of alot for Burger King. You get the removable plastic cape, a red coffin with the Dracula logo on it, and a collectible glow in the dark Dracula sticker. The cool thing about the coffin is that you can put Dracula in it and pull a lever on the side and he launches out knocking the lid off ! That is a pretty cool feature in my opinion. Overall this figure has some articulation, what you'd expect from a Burger King toy, and basic resemblance to Lugosi kind of hurts the figure since all of the other figures in this series look like the monsters from the film. I would definately get this if you collect Universal Monsters stuff like I do or if you collect Burger King toys, and would also reccomend picking up the other 3 figures : Frankenstein, the Wolf Man and the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Out of 10 I give this figure a 5, which is pretty good for a Burger King toy.
