Ergodyne GloWear 8935 High Visibility Reflective Ranger Sun Hat,Orange, Large/X-Large

I’m a regular hiker and we often go through national forest areas where hunters are allowed, so I bought these hi-vis hats for myself and my hiking partner. They’re extremely lightweight, fold up small, and fit easily into any backpack without taking up room. The brim has a nice sturdiness to it, and the hat holds its shape well even after being packed. There isn’t really an adjustment feature, but the size ranges listed are accurate and they have a bit of stretch, so make sure to choose the right size from the product listing. The hat has just enough wind resistance while still allowing airflow, which keeps it comfortable on long hikes. For the price, you honestly can’t beat it, and it makes me feel much safer when hiking in areas where hunters may be nearby.

I am a sailor who likes to sail long distances (e.g. 1200nm+) offshore in the ocean. I bought this "ranger" or "boony" hat to protect my face and ears and neck from sunburn. I have an extra large head (24.5" circ), and sometimes even "Extra Large" hats will not fit me well (or are too tight). This hat comes in XXL and I bought that size. I am very glad that this seller/brand (Ergodyne) has made this XXL hat (as few hats are made that size). I hope Ergodyne will continue to produce hats this large, as I think that is a competitive advantage as other sellers do not. I compared this hat to many others that look similar, and this one came in the needed XXL size. Others don't. I am very happy to say it fits very nicely, without any tightness. In fact, I like it so much I am going to order another one to have in case I lose this one. If I had a regular crew working for me, I would buy each person one of these. The high visibility yellow/lime color is very bright and is also good for sailors. The hat has two different reflective materials that really do work very well. The wide reflective band or ribbon on the hat crown is very good retroreflective material. In addition the hat has a narrow reflective trim that goes around the outside of the brim. Together these are very good at reflecting lights such as headlights of cars or spotlights or flashlights. This does provide a good sense of added safety visibility at night. The fabric used is lightweight, and the hat has a vented crown. I have worn this hat for many days in the hot sun and never felt "hot" under the hat. The hat comes with a very nice and long "stampede strap" or "wind strap" or "cord keeper" with a sliding adjustment button that works well. When sailing, I snug this down and can face the wind without fear of the hat blowing off my head. The brim is wide enough to provide good protection fo my ears and nose and face when under high sun. It also provides some sun protection for my neck. The hat material is light weight, so this hat can be easily rolled up or folded up and stuck in a pocket when not needed. But, because it is light weight, it is hardly noticeable when worn. I highly recommend this hat as a very good value, with outstanding features and functionality for sun protection and high visibility. By the way, I have not received any compensation or discount for writing this review. I simply like this hat very much, and consider it an excellent product, with outstanding value if you need sun protection and a larger size had for wear outdoors. If you are a sailor, hiker, walker, yard worker, field worker, farmer, or anyone who works outside and wants better all around (wide brim) sun protection in a light weight hat that is comfortable and easy to wear, this is a good solution.

There is a lot to like about this hat. The colors are very bright and anyone with this on is going to easily stand out. The materials are of good quality. The brim is just about the perfect size. It's big enough to provide plenty of shade but no so big that it looks like a sombrero. The brim is also just about right in terms of stiffness. It doesn't droop down but at the same time it's pretty flexible and would be easy to roll up for storage. The one problem I have is that it even in the L/XL size, it doesn't fit on to my ginormous melon of a head. According to the product description it should fit a circumference of 24" (which is right in between 7 5/8 and 7 3/4 hat size... what I usually wear). However, it doesn't feel like it's anywhere close to fitting. Rather than return it I think I'll try to find it a home on someone with a non huge head.

This is perfect for those who work outside. Good light and very bright hat. Keeps the sun off you and material is breathable.

I have a normal sized head and l/xl fits me great. I notice a lot of people, maybe most men nowadays have enormous hog heads and if that’s you then the l/xl won’t fit. I like that it blocks the sun. It is lightweight and cool. Ideal for flagging traffic type of work. Good visibility.

This is a good hat for high visibility. Keeps my head cool in the summer while protecting my ears, neck and bald spot from sunburn.

I like the big brim and the bright color. I wear it while land surveying to keep the sun off my head and keep myself easy to see while working. The problem is that it's made of polyester! It is hot!!!!! It turns my head into an oven!!! The vent holes that are there do very little to cool my head. Also the size of the hat is a bit too big but I wear my hair very short so I can understand that. It's great on cool days just not the summer days here in North Carolina.

Yes, the brim, keeps direct SUN from my face, but the BEST part, is that it is very visible

i recommend , but take size smaller it's little to larger then expect but smallee size it's great i also wear L/XL but for this hat it's small/medium
