The Boat Cookbook: Real Food for Hungry Sailors Paperback – June 5, 2014

Already tried a few recipes, I like the multiple sections, diverse recipes, simple and delicious desserts, main course, booze etc. also recipies you can cook depending on if your docked in harbor, out at sea, or at home.

Nice cookbook to add to my collection on the boat!

What a disappointment. You wouldn’t make most of this food on or for a boat. Martha’s Vineyard maybe. Ugh

The book is broken into 5 sections:* Galley* In Harbour* At Sea* At Home* BoozeThe first 3 recipes in the 'In Harbour' section are:* Apricot and pecan cream porridge* Cinnamon honey figs with ricotta and toasted almonds* Porcini on toast with eggsNow on my boat I could probably rustle up the toast, eggs, porridge and honey from those ingredients.This reminds me of the episode of Outnumbered where one of the kids calls his mother looking for ingredients and she says, ah your looking at the Nigella Lawson cookbook, nobody really has that stuff in their kitchen.I stopped flicking through the recipes when I found an 'Instant Fondue' recipe in the 'At Sea' section. Now I'm not into S&M that involves hot wax, so I can't imagine any scenario where I'd think that hot, liquid cheese is what I really want to eat while bobbing around on the waves.The Galley section probably had a couple of worthwhile tidbits in it.There should be something good in the Booze section but I have to ask, who needs a recipe book to make the perfect G&T?

I'm not a sailor, but liked the sound of this anyway. It did not disappoint.. Lots of good recipes for cooking with few pots.

Not really a cook book for a small sailing boat, maybe for a large yacht or motorboat with a full kitchen and a full pantry.
