A Kiss Goodbye (The Kissing Hand Series)

If you are in a situation such as a divided family, and your child is having troubles adjusting to their new life situation, this is the perfect book to read to them. Read it first with your own box of tissues next to you, though. It is very touching, but your child will know there are some very special things that, no matter what the situation may be, cannever be taken away from them.

Got this for my 3yo as we were preparing for a move to another state. It definitely helped acknowledge the emotions that go into moving, but it's long and wordy so his attention waned.

Beautiful story with beautiful photos. A book to share with your children and keep forever so they can share the stories with their kids

I bought a few books about moving to help my three-year-old with the process. He loves the other books and asks to read them every night before bed even though we’ve already moved. This book, however, sent him into a panic when we reached the part about how the family is forced to move because people are coming to cut down the forest. He kept talking about how someone was coming to “break our home.” I don’t blame him. That’s a pretty scary message for a young preschooler trying to deal with the actual stresses of moving. Unless there is an element of being forced out of your home — which is real for too many people, unfortunately — I would not recommend this book for very young kids.

The story is beautiful but the quality of the physical book was terrible. Cheap thin paper that fell apart after the first read and needed to be taped back together.
