Ease to understand. Has a loungewear, lingerie, and swimwear chapter. Bodies, panties, bra basic pattern blocks clear instructions. Maybe not for a beginner.

This book is an excellent source for lingerie and close fitting (negative ease) garments. I have seen excerpts from this book in many web blogs and on Burda. I found it to be very small print so wear your reading glasses. But overall the book is fairly easy to follow. Keep in mind when designing bra patterns, according to Beverly Johnson ( bramakersSupply.com) you cannot make a bra pattern larger than a 36 b/c and grade it from her directions. But it does give the ideal for a great place to start to learn bra pattern making along with other stretch garments. A lot of information in one little book. You won't be disappointed. I wasn't. Amazing book!! Very detailed with TONS of information! Has SOOO many patterns. Starts from the basics and builds on the original. There’s no physical pattern that comes with it , but if you want to learn , this IS the book ( pics give u an idea what the book is like. Patterns of everything just about. Found it to be very informative )

I bought this book along with How to Make Sewing Patterns by McCunn. With some previous knowledge (10 yrs prior, so it's been awhile & definitely not fresh) I was able to use this book easily for swimwear & lingerie. There is LOTS of lingerie & lounge wear, some I had never heard of or seen.I wish more explanation was given about working with spandex fabrics & elastic tape, but alas, they just gave you the fish instead of teaching you fishing. Some initiative is required for a deeper understanding, if that's what you are after.Other than that I found the instructions for basics easy to follow (especially with a computer-aided drafting program, rather than by hand. TONS of time saved!!!). After doing all the basics the book provided of, lets say bra tops, I felt I had enough experience to confidently use the same techniques to do my own designs & they came out perfect or near perfect on the first try!I'd definitely recommend this book to someone who catches on easily.

This book is for a vance pattern makers who want to learn more about making beachwear Swimwear and lingerie. it’s a good book to have on hand to when you are making patterns. this book will be in my sewing book collection.

I enjoy drafting my own patterns and this specialty book is full of great material for drafting many styles of lingerie, beachwear and clothing for lounging around the house. I'm enjoying using it as a guide for several items I have sewn so far, and I have more planned.

GREAT book for ADVANCED pattern makers. I am not one of them. I love more detail on top of detail coupled with simplicity instructions. This book is not that. I found more simplistic lingerie and beachwear pattern instructions on the internet. Don't get me wrong this book has some good information in it BUT for the ADVANCED pattern maker.
