Protect-A-Bed AllerZip Smooth Mattress Encasement, Queen

Very easy to install it, and it completely surrounds the mattress covering it fully on all six sides, including the underside, because it is zippered. It looks like a very good micro-tooth zipper, small enough so that dusty mites can’t bother my sleep. That is the only reason I bought it: to prevent dust mites, mold, and other allergy triggers. Make sure to wash it regularly, every month or two—more often if you have pets or allergies. Most mattress protectors are machine washable, but check the instructions to be sure. Typically they can be washed in cold or warm water, on delicate setting without detergents, and make sure to dry it on low heat. Detergents and high heat damage any waterproof layer.

I bought two sizes of these Allerzip Smooth Encasements for a Queen bed. A smaller one, 7-12 inches deep, fit perfectly over a 9" boxspring. A larger one, 12-18 inches deep, fit perfectly over a 13" mattress. The fabric stretches, and it fit without sagging - not too tight, but also no extra fabric anywhere, just right.I'm very happy with this product. This was the best I could find among premium encasements that offered bugproof protection, and I shopped a lot, including looking at several competing encasements at Bed Bath & Beyond etc.AllerZip Smooth encasement was easy to install. The fabric is thick and sturdy (much sturdier and tighter weave than the other premium offerings I saw). The fabric is smooth, and it's quiet and sweat-free to sleep on. The quality (thickness, the tightness of the fabric weave and zipper, design of the lock) is much better than a $100+ premium encasement I bought at Sleepy's (that one disintegrated, was hot to sleep on, and did not have protective locks over zippers). I'm especially happy with the tightness and sturdiness of the fabric weave (especially when compared to what was offered for a similar or higher price at BBB).Installation was easy. However, some advice: 1) when installing on boxspring, put some duck tape on the metal corners of the boxspring, to protect the fabric of encasement; (those metal corners can be sharp as knives); 2) if using a metal bed, put some felt pads on the sharp edges of the bed; and 3) AllerZip encasement will trap anything inside - including AIR during installation; therefore, in order to avoid an air bubble, don't zip it fully before releasing (smoothing out) the trapped air.This is a very good product for what is needed (bugproof, allergy proof, quality).

fabric is nice. fit mattress well

Waterproof, breathable, easy for one person to put on. They include a few tiny zip-ties to secure the zipper in place so it can't work loose. Perfect fit for a nine inch queen-sized mattress. With the ten year guarantee, the cost per year is negligible and the peace of mind is enormous.

Would not recommend the seller or the product, I came here from the Wirecutter but the zipper busted within 3 months and I cannot get a refund or any assistance from the seller. Don't waste your money here, it's way overpriced for its value and won't last

Love the cover. Need to spend more time at the gym to be able to get this on. Actually, it takes two people. Quality is very good.

While I can't actually say if this is protecting my mattress from bed bugs as I don't have any, it certainly appears secure. I can speak to the comfort level, I've noticed no negative impacts, my sheets fit smoothly over top, it is quiet, and doesn't feel warm or hot. It seems to be very breathable. It was relatively easy to put on myself, I didn't have any issues.

Works great. very difficult to put on. but you don't want to take off since it traps them in. worked nice. just be carefull when you take mattress and box spring off your bed. it can tear very easily. and then that defeats the use if it gets a whole in it. but worked great. worth the money

Fit a queen size Endy mattress perfectly. Comfortable to sleep on and no noise with movement.haven't washed it or tested waterproof capabilities yet.Picked this mattress protector after reading the review in thewirecutter
