Garrett Ace Environmental Cover Up 1619900

Used to protect my Garrett detector control box

I was taking a shot since the title doesn't specifically list the Ace 350 as one of the models it fits. Rest assured, that it will work, the housing unit is the same as the Ace 150 and Ace 250 respectively. Now this cover is not made to water-proof the unit for heavy rain. The cover, covers all sides and front. However, the bottom of the unit where it attaches to the collapsible pole is left some what un-protected, except for the Velcro which holds the cover in place. The cover, over-laps the front and sides of the unit and should work well during drizzle and light rain and wet conditions. Cover consists of a very thin canvas over a very thin plastic backing. However, the embroidery work punches through the the thin plastic protective layer. The canvas has not been treated with a water repellant. While testing, the embroidery work as well as the canvas, both retained and soaked up moisture. The use of a commercially available water repellent spray is highly RECOMMENDED! This will cause the water to bead away and stop absorption. Since weather is touted in the description with no further explanation, I was concerned with the water aspect of the weather. The cover will also protect against dirt, dust, scratches. Would have given 5 stars if the canvas had been treated with water repellant.

Fits well without headphones plugged into unit. When headphones are plugged in the plug is a little in the way. But very nicely made covers unit where it needs to, to keep it dry and out of the elements.

Fits perfectly! So glad I bought this protector! It is not ‘waterproof’ but does allow me to continue detecting if it starts I can continue until it really starts raining. Love to!

As another reviewer has said, there is a problem with the screen cover being quite wrinkled and having black marks. I can't tell what it is but they are stubborn. Perhaps acetone will shift them. Otherwise, the product quality seems very sturdy.The problem is of course, that the user needs to be able to see the screen, so this is a serious flaw.Another minor issue is that there is no hiding that you are using a Garrett Ace, and many 'tectorists may not wish to be quite so heavily branded. Then again, there isn't a lot of choice, unless you fancy using a shower cap!

Stylish. Easy on the eye.Some constructive criticism.I have Garrett headphones and the connector is set at a right angle. This cover make it difficult to conceal the connection. The cover helpfully conceals the other connector, this being the cable from the coil.But this is a minor issue and perhaps only relative to a small number of people.All in all a good and well made product.
