Inspirational
I first saw William Eggleston while i was attending UCLA. I heard his exhibit was at the MOMA or whatever the museum with all the lights out on Wilshire is called. That museum is usually half junk but someone told me I had to see it. They showed me one image (the red room with light bulb and sex poster in the corner) and I drove my motorbike over the next morning to see for myself. This book doesn’t contain that image but it does have a few of my favorites from Eggleston. This is highly inspirational stuff. Funny, insightful, clever, beautiful, scary, sad, and temporal. Very important work that has inspired me in more ways than one.

Great book! There is a Penis.
I love William Eggleston’s work! Moving to Memphis where he lives I was wanting to have some of his work in my home. Doesn’t bother me but there is a page with a fully frontal nude male and so may not be kid/family friendly.

Fascinating
He is such a talented photographer and sees the beauty in ordinary things, things no one else would take a picture of, I can relate big time. A well put together book and a must have if you enjoy photos w a different look.

What can I say? This is my favorite photographer.
This is my favorite photographer. It is that simple. I love color photography. I understand why people love black and white but something can be said also for color photography and what it has to say. Here is the man that brought color photography to fine art, and this is the collection that did it. So, if you have any love of photography as an expression of the human thought, then buy this book to see why color photography is considered art as well as black and white.

I swoon over Eggleston
Oh boy, do I adore William Eggleston's work. Dreamy and a touch disturbing. Serious and sometimes funny. Straightforward, unembellished. This earns four stars only because I want more photos and text! Of course, I kind of knew what I was getting, but still... The quality is very good and I would recommend this one if you aren't prepared to pay a lot for more editions of Eggleston. I'm saving up!

Great Photographer - Classic Book
William Eggleston was a major influence in American photography and this book exemplifies his early work. As a photographer myself, I have an appreciation of capturing simple elements of every day life in an original or artistic manner. This is the central theme of Eggleston's work, along with his innovative use of dye transfer darkroom work. This is the perfect first book to buy to enjoy his work.

Exceeded expectations.
I've heard people talk about William Eggleson's Guide for years. I finally bought a copy and I have to admit it's one of the more intriguing photo books I've come across in a long time. Beautifully designed and richly printed with work that is understated but still keeps you coming back again and again.
