Totally Captivated Side Story: Totally Peeking Under the Sheets Volume 1

This is yaoi, not shonen-ai. And... I. LOVED. This. Volume!Having read and enjoyed the 6 books of the main Totally Captivated story, I had to purchase and check out the three side stories: Diary of Sangchul, Totally Peeking under the sheets 1 & Totally Peeking under the sheets 2. Of the three, this is by far my favourite! Why? Because it is unabashedly lacking in any real plot. PWP FTW! (Plot, what plot?) Everyone knows we just want to see these two cute guys together, after all...About the sex scenes: There was one big detraction/distraction for me that occurred throughout the book: nonconforming "censorship" of the art. To be fair, it looks like the "censorship" was done by Hajin Yoo, rather than imposed by an editor. Sometimes- rarely- the genitals are awkwardly and crudely drawn in, but for the most part, they fall into the "invisible genitals" or "screentone here" category (which is weird to look at when you're checking out a very male chest and legs and BAM! in the middle is... nothing.) There are also several instances of "misty" or "negative space" genitals, in one case being very distracting as the hand supposedly holding it is like, waaay up higher than the misty area. There's no consistency about which form of "censored" style shows up when. Still, if it's a choice between unadulterated fan service or perfectly drawn genitals, I'll choose the fan service every time. And there is a LOT of fan service, a LOT of kissing, a lot of tongue, and a LOT of naked chests. Yay! And as always from Hajin Yoo, the facial expressions are just lovely, masculine, and wonderfully expressive.The plot (or lack thereof): In the first story, "How to Live With a Total Beast," Mookyul decides that Ewon and he should do it only once a week due to Ewon being exhausted all the time. This proves very difficult. There are then two short stories related to Dohoon and Ewon's relationship. There is one short story about Mookyul getting horny when he and Ewon are in the office. There are two 2-page shorts titled, "Interview with Ewon Jung" and "Interview with Mookyul Eun," one short story titled "Killer Bear's Gift" about how Ewon asks Mookyul to do the dishes one day, and the final short story simply titled, "Mookyul Eun X Ewon Jung," which is essentially about Ewon and Jiho gossipping about how sexy Mookyul is.It should be noted for people sensitive to that kind of thing, that throughout this volume, Ewon often says things like, "Wait" and the occassional "That hurts" during sex scenes. Mookyul is a pushy, sex-crazed guy as usual, and Ewon "resists" and then gives in as usual, but there is no NCS or bondage here.Finally, it should be noted that this is an oversized manwha. It is not the same size as the original 6 volumes of the main story. It is roughly twice that size, with oversized art and oversized text that reads in the Western style rather than in Japanese style (not surprisingly, as it is manwha, not manga.) I was a little disappointed that the three side stories could not fit aesthetically next to the 6 main volumes on my bookshelf, but I forgive it for this volume, for being such an enjoyable read.

I love these two and these side stories are perfect and sexy! I definitely love seeing more on the relationship of these two. Yum!

All three Totally Captivated Side Stories are excellent. The books are big and that makes the artwork more impressive.Since I own all the books in the Totally Captivated series, when I reread them I followed this order.I read Volumes 1 and 2 of the original series and then read Totally Captivated Side Story: Diary of Sangchul. Then I finished the original series volumes 3-6 and then read Totally Peeking under the Sheets Volumes 1 and 2.The original series is rated 16+. These 3 books are definitely adult.The main characters Mookyul and Ewon are unforgettable; the supporting cast is well fleshed out.This is high class yaoi.

Mookyul's love for Ewon continues and he shows his "Sly Little Fox" just how little he can really be domesticated. Finishing up her series Yoo takes us for a lovely ride on how well these two will live their lives.

i was upset knowing i had bought all the manga of this title but to my surprise i came across this and a few others. just love these couples. not a boring moment and i'm glad they haven't changed.

This book is about Ewon taking in his youngest sister. The book is almost a 8 1/2 X 11 size book. Big for a manga but I love it!

Love the side stories after the main story ended. It was fun to read, despite the volume being the same size as a regular artwork book.

In dem vorliegenden Sammelband handelt es sich um eine Kurzgeschichtensammlung, die zeitlich nach dem Ende der Serie „Totally Captivated“ der Autorin angesiedelt ist. Hauptsächlich geht es darum, wie Ewon Jung und Mookyul Eun ihre Beziehung gestalten, nachdem sie es nach Ende des letzten Teils der Serie endlich geschafft haben zusammen zu kommen. Da es sich um mehrere kurze Episoden handelt, schreibe ich nichts weiter zum Inhalt, um Spoiler zu vermeiden.Wer die Serie nicht kennt, wird von den Geschichten an sich enttäuscht sein, da diese lediglich oberflächlich zu sein scheinen und nur so vor heißen und intimen Szenen strotzen. Da hilft es auch nicht, wenn der Zeichenstil sehr ansprechend ist und die einzelnen Kapitel amüsant zu lesen sind.Das ist auch der Grund, warum ich einen Stern abziehe. Ich finde das man sich thematisch noch auf viel mehr als auf „das eine“ in den Kurzgeschichten hätte konzentrieren können.Genau wie die Trilogie: „His House“ der Autorin ist auch dieser Sammelband wieder doppelt so groß wie der Standard. Da wir hier aber nicht, wie in „His House“ durchgehend farbig gestaltete Seiten und im Vergleich „nur“ 170 anstelle der 220 Seiten des anderen Werkes bekommen, empfinde ich den Preis als nicht gerechtfertigt und ziehe einen weiteren Stern ab.Fazit: Wer die Hauptserie nicht kennt, sollte von diesem Buch die Finger lassen, es sei denn er gibt sich mit einer oberflächlichen Handlung und vielen heißen Szenen zufrieden.
