Pragmatic Guidance
I was looking for a job search guide in one place, and I found it here. I sought a single source that walks me systematically through the dream-identification phase to my first day on the job, to satisfaction and success throughout my career. This book hits the mark, and I found focus by implementing the author's advice and exercises. My favorite aspects of the author's guidance are that he unapologetically counters some conventional notions about traditional job-hunting, and he outlines how to use media as a networking tool with specific and practical tips. Another valuable aspect about this book is that it does not begin the job search in the middle, and does not assume that the reader has already identified their dream job. But most importantly, it is not fluff. The exercises are pragmatic and engage the reader with real action beyond imagination. In addition, this book accounts for the importance of a job as so much more than just a time-punching exercise, and all about work that empowers and excites the job seeker. This book will be useful for the reader as dreams, networks, and life circumstances evolve, and I intend to keep it by my side throughout the evolution of my career. Five stars.

Helpful with my successful job search
I would recommend this book to any recent college graduate, who does not know where to start in his/her career. This book provides very simple and useful advice when it comes to resume writing, cover letter writing, interviewing, networking, and building your brand. It is also a very motivational book, providing stories from successful individuals who did receive a job offer that they were interested in.The one problem I have had was identifying what my dream job is. Personally, I have read half of this book in one month, followed all of the advice and received a salaried job. I cant say if this is my dream job but I now make 4X's as much money than my previous job. The new job is more in-line with my skill set and talent.Overall this book gave me practical advice, I followed. Motivated me to put my best foot forward and so far I have been successful!

Take this advice with a grain of salt.
This is an excellent, well written book with a lot of great job search advice. However Pete makes finding your dream job seem like the easiest thing in the world. It certainly is not. The advice about networking and advice appointments in particular, is extremely difficult, and in my experience and the experience of those around me, rarely fruitful in actually finding a job. Each networking event and advice apt usually just leads to another networking event or advice apt. Good book but be careful about putting too much stake in Pete's recommendations.

Great book. I used it to figure out what people mean by the word networking. Networking is so much more fun now. I am excited to get out there and work hard at my dream job.
