Clinical Orthopaedic Rehabilitation: A Team Approach

I bought this book for help learning protocols and for the great, informative images I could show my patients during their education process. My clinic was destroyed by Hurricane Michael and all of my school books were destroyed. Over all of my books I chose to purchase another copy of this one before I even had my next job lined up! Don't waste your money on the kindle version because every book has a scratch off for an online version.

Excellent product. Relevant an updated content, also new information in comparison to 3rd edition of Brotzman. Very easy to use: you need something, go for a chapter, and there lots of info about assessment, surgical approaches, recommendations and protocols that may be useful as a reference. Understanding that the biopsychosocial model can’t use unique “receipe”, this gives you a nice framework.

Excellent resource for clinicians. Diagrams and photos are well placed. Online content is also available and easy to use. Many post-operative protocols and clinical guidelines to help guild rehabilitation timeframes. Multiple contributing authors with well put together chapters.

A very thorough textbook, and not written in any difficult or technical way. It references many research articles for evidence-based support. Protocols included and exercise photos.

Evidence based ortho rehab book! Must read!

Being a sports medicine physician, I'm well aware of the needs to integrate quality therapy with proper musculoskeletal diagnosis. This book meets at that intersection and serves as the perfect adjunct in my practice to help me better understand the therapeutic regimen I need to request. Feedback from one of my partner therapists suggest they appreciate the flip side of it considering the diagnostic descriptors help them better understand the "medical view".

As a person who works in the sports medicine field I find that this book helps with being able to return athletes back to the game after enduring traumatic injuries that result in surgery. His approach is great and knowing the positive relationship between post surgical rehab and recovery is where Giangarra nails it on the head. Fantastic read!

It's a very good book!

Ottimo libro. Preso in lingua inglese per avere una versione piú recente del libro "riabilitazione in ortopedia", risalente ormai al 2014 (a sua volta localizzazione italiana del libro del 2011 "clinical orthopaedic in rehabilitation, 3rd edition"). Tuttavia lascio tre stelle per 2 motivi: 1) il libro mi è arrivato con un'etichetta stampata e incollata sulla copertina anteriore, nella parte relativa agli autori, il che mi spinge a pensare che il libro abbia avuto un errore di stampa e che il problema sia stato risolto in maniera molto discutibile. Oppure, dato che in alcune foto online del libro gli autori sono 2, puó darsi che vi sia stata un cambio di disposizioni da parte dell'editore e che sia stato aggiunto il terzo quando i libri erano giá stati stampati. Tuttavia, ripeto, ció non giustifica l'uso di un etichetta come correzione in un libro di 80 euro (prezzo attuale). Puó darsi anche che mi sia stato rifilato lo stesso libro restituito dal recensore precedente (ahimè); 2) il codice "QR Scan" (perdonate la terminologia), necessario per riscattare il pin della versione ebook del libro, non era valido. Ora non so se questo possa essere stato giá riscattato da qualcuno prima del mio acquisto o se possa essere un errore della piattaforma, tuttavia l'editore (Elsevier) mi ha attivato ugualmente la licenza, quindi ora posso leggerlo comodamente sullo smartphone. Solo questo aspetto mi ha fatto desistere dal restituire il libro. Infine, consiglio il libro anche se non avete molta dimestichezza con l'inglese. Non lo consiglio per le motivazioni esposte precendentemente (che valgono solo come esperienza personale). Voglio sottolineare che il libro è comunque ottimo in contenuti e presentazione (tranne l'etichetta).
