Absolutely loved this read
Seth (Cyborgs More than Machines) Eve LanglaisWow just Wow, I totally loved Seth’s book. Totally. He’s has got to be the most fun loving, jokester, intelligent, hot as hell spy cyborg. He was not designed as the warrior cyborgs, but as a spy. The spy cyborgs had more of their human traits and characteristics left so they could mingle in with the humans and not be detected. Don’t get me wrong his fighting skills were second to none. He was basically a spy and a trained assassin.Something I hadn’t realized was Seth actually volunteered to be enhanced to an extent. But when the good Doctor wanted to start replacing perfectly good organs with mechanical ones that’s where Seth drew the line.To recap Seth was married and his wife Anastasia was also in the Military and human just like Seth. They met in training camp and immediately Seth was attracted to her. When he offered his hand to assist her over a wall she scoffed at him. Seth was never one to try and out shine, he would rather help those who needed it. But when Anastasia mentioned some type of competition and 10 recruits would be chosen for a special mission Seth could not resist the challenge. And here is where their story begins. They were both chosen to go to the next level of the test. And of course they passed. The Superiors matched up Seth and Anastasia as a team and rightly so. They were unbeatable. Still going through strenuous training when it came to the physical hand-to-hand Seth had the advantage. He was bigger, and he was male. When Anastasia disappeared for a week Seth was going crazy. What he didn’t know they were enhancing her to be as strong as Seth. She was injected/transfused with teeny tiny foreign bots that circulated in their blood. But unbeknownst to her she had a BCI chip installed in her brain so she could be controlled. Seth went through the same procedure of enhancement and he too had a BCI implanted. I don’t want to reveal too much of the story but Seth’s refusal of letting them replace perfectly good organs with mechanical ones and his request to get out of the program started a chain of events where the military had control (or so they thought) over Seth and Anastasia. Anastasia was lead to believe Seth was and had been unfaithful in their marriage sparking her jealousy. They were each instructed to put down the other, which didn’t happen.Surprising a lot was revealed and insinuated in this book. Very interesting. Left a lot of unanswered questions for the cyborgs and their origin. Anastasia is still bent on revenge for what was done to her and plans to get it.The way this story was written Eve takes you to present, then she gives a glimpse of their past, then brings you back up to the present. I loved it. You got an in-depth up close and personal glimpse at Seth and Anastasia’s military life and what went down to bring them to this point in their lives. You really need to read this story. I’m going to say it’s one of my favorites. It actually had me laughing out loud at certain parts, and holding my breath at others. The Epilogue totally blew me away. I was trying to figure out if the Cyborg was Avion or Kyle having the dream conversation with an imprisoned female Cyborg known as One. I’ve got this gut feeling this female human turned cyborg is actually the daughter of the Doctor who started all the experimenting. I guess I’ll just have to wait for the next book release.

Could Not Wait For Seth
I am a big fan of Eve Langlais, especially her Cyborg series. Since the beginning I have been hooked on Seth. When you put together a hero who is playful, sexy, handsome, super confident, strong, smart, you have one awesome cyborg. The fact that he has to be more on the human side and has an amazing sense of humor makes him all the more dreamy. In all the books leading up to his, Seth has been a bright spot I looked forward to. I was more than excited when he got his own book. This book was another awesome addition to the Cyborg series. Being enhanced to fulfill his job as a spy, Seth's story leads us on an exciting, suspenseful, romantic adventure with his first love and estranged wife Anastasia. The story is well paced and was well balanced with romance, hot love scenes, humor and all the drama we have come to love in this Cyborg series. The world building is as always a wonderful part of these scify books. I could not wait to reenter the hypnotic world of the cyborgs which has been so well defined and enhanced throughout the series you just jump back in.As always it is enjoyable to have several of the characters from the previous books woven into the story. The reoccurring characters always enhance the story and bind the series together. There are also several new characters and themes introduced such as Seth's wife Anastasia and the search for the original source of the cyborgs.Anastasia is also a cyborg, also enhanced to be a spy like Seth. They have a unique history that gets revealed through several entertaining flashbacks. I found Anastasia a bit difficult to warm up to but that really goes along with her being a cyborg. Seth's exuberant personality, antics and heroism makes the book extremely enticing and also wins back Anastasia's heart, (mechanical or human). The book ends with several teasers for the next book. I hope Eve has already begun working on it because these cyborgs are addicting. After a lot of begging Eve Langlais was merciful enough to send me an advanced copy of the book. The book did not disappoint and I hope you find my review helpful. Although these books can be read stand alone I found it more enjoyable to read them in order.

engaging throughout
Langlais’ seamless writing allows her innate skill as a novelist to shine through. Her world building never ceases while at the same time she develops an intricate and intimate plot that is both entertaining and thought provoking. The various aspects of the story all tie together while also providing a large backdrop for readers to immerse themselves in. The combination of comical, snarky moments with suspenseful ones means that you’ll never be bored. Ok, I’ve got to say it. I absolutely love the name of the cyborgs’ ship. It cracks me up every time I read it.The in-depth look at Seth’s background not only brings his personality and more human characteristics into focus, it also shows how cyborgs came into being, or at least how individual ones were made. The technology and process behind it was quite fascinating. It also brings the glaring difference between the spy model cyborgs and everyone else into sharp focus. Not only that, but experiencing Seth & Anastasia’s combined and separate pasts put their current relationship into perspective. I love the way that they competed with and bated one another, while also putting their lives on the line to protect each other. Their relationship was fantastic and kept me engaged throughout.Langlais sets this novel up so that it could potentially be read as a standalone, briefly filling in the key points of who’s who & what’s what, but for full enjoyment I’d recommend reading the full series in order. The way that this novel overlaps and intertwines with Aramus’ story really enhanced my enjoyment. I really like how each novel in the series builds on the previous one, while also standing on its own.

disapointed
I cant say more than what the synopsis says so ill just describe what I thought about the story. The characters were good and fully formed but I felt the author tried to make seth too witty and and therefore he didn't have much of a serious side. Throughout most of the story it was just aluded to where thay were going to find the origin of the cyborgs and not how they were going to do it and you didnt really get much action until near the end of the story. There was a lot of back story about how they previously met and became cyborgs which I found boring, I would have liked more story about the present time instead.Overall I was disapointed with this story even though there were quite a few funny quips, maybe it was because of the role reversal the female was the grumpy one and the male was the fun one. I didnt feel much chemistry between the characters either, maybe its just me because other reviewers seem to have enjoyed the story. Ive read all of this series and ive enjoyed some more than others but I just couldnt get into this story, my mind kept wandering while I was reading and I like to be sucked into the story and I wasnt with this.

Brilliant!
Absolutely adore this series and loved this book! Finally Seth got his book and it was well worth waiting for as we learn a little more about the beginnings of the Cyborg project though we still don't know who's behind it or how the technology came to be. We are a step closer to knowing giving the events in the this and Aramus's book as the events in them both were paralleling each other up to when Seth is found in the pod by his fellow Cyborgs!I loved all the fighting and bantering between Seth and Anastasia! They were hilarious together and so good together as they feed of each other and are a strong team.I can't wait for the next book given the end paragraph and the plan that was developed at the end of the book as I have a suspicion as to who is next to get a book and a suspicion that the Cyborgs are getting a lot closer to finding the answers they're looking for!

James Bond, DeNozzo from NCIS Mr & Mrs Smith, what a combination!
Another exciting story from Eve. A bit more of the origins of the Cyborgs is revealed. New characters introduced for the future and catching up with old favourites too. It took a.little while to get back into it, if I'm honest, but now I'm off to read Adam & I've pre-ordered Avion.
