Columbia Men's Silver Ridge Bucket II Sun Hat

I'm a big fan of bucket hats, the downsloping brim gives more coverage and the full brim covers the ears…this one has a wide enough brim to give good coverage but is not so wide as all the 'Booney' hats that make you look like an extra on Duck Dynasty, and is especially kool because you can wad it up and stuff it in a pocket and it pops out looking like new. The laser cut ventilation holes also work really well, helping to avoid the HotHead syndrome of so many other hats. My experience is this hat is good to about 80-85 degrees, and then it's time to get out a vented straw hat.I have a 7.5" head, and the L/XL was a tad big, but I washed it and dried it and it now fits perfectly. I got a hat clip thing at REI and keep it clipped to the labels inside the hat, and clip one end to my shirt collar in a high wind, but so far the hat hasn't blown off. Great all-round hat and especially a good travel hat, light, versatile and dressy enough for a nice restaurant…but of course, you would take it off.

My husband has this exact cap in a medium, and it is so tight that it leaves a band mark around his forehead. I am pretty sure he picked up the medium on super-bargain-basement-clearance somewhere and just made the best of it since it was cheap. Anyway, the medium one is showing a lot of wear and tear so we sized up to a large, and it is too big. I thought he was being picky (I HATE returning things), so I requested a little fashion show... sure enough, the large was significantly wider around than the medium. He wanted to wear this hat to play golf; however, because it is a full finger's width too large it would surely blow away with the slightest breeze. Again, he is normally a large in hat sizes, so this hat definitely runs wide.The vendor was great and accepted the return (at our expense, which was not much) without question.

I love bucket hats: easily slips in a pocket or bag, enough brim to protect ears and upper face but not so much brim it flops around like a safari wannabe. The Silver Ridge design looks similar to cotton canvas buckets but the polyester fabric is lighter, softer, cooler and holds it's shape better after being stuffed in a bag. And, yes, it's cooler than cotton, allowing me to endure hours of gardening or summer trekking. The only negative is trade winds can easily toss it, but then I hate chin straps.My noggin is a 7.25 incher and the S/M fits okay, albeit slightly large (Columbia products tend to be a little oversized). I prefer a tan bucket--shows less dirt but still cool--but bought beige (Fossil) since the other colors weren't to my taste or were too dark for a sun hat. All in all a handsome, well made, cool super lightweight and comfy bucket.

This is a great hat for being outdoors in the summer. It's light weight and the vents do help keep you cool. My head is on the large side (about 7 5/8), but the L/XL size fits me fine, and is even a tiny bit big (I shave my head, though, so perhaps if I had hair it would be a perfect fit). My only complaint is that the hat came folded, and the crease from the packaging is still visible, despite various attempts to get rid of it. I have thrown this hat in bags and so it has been folded for other periods, but it's never creased the way it was when it came. If it weren't for the crease, this would be a five-star hat (I wish I had found it in a brick-and-mortar store).

worked great. keeps me very cool and shady. Also, its surprisingly tough. I hit my head pretty hard on the broken off tip of a pine tree branch which gave the top of my head a decent sized gash wound, and this hat did not tear, or show any sign of damage whatsoever. also very lightweight. The blood completely washed out in a normal wash cycle so it is pretty stain resistant too!It would be 5 stars if it had a chin tie off to keep it from blowing away or to hang from my neck.

I'm pretty pleased with the hat. The hat itself is made out of a lightweight polyester with side ventilation. It's soft and breathes quite well in hot weather and I haven't found myself needing to take it off to deal with excess heat under the hat. It also resists water fairly well, so this is a handy hat for light to moderate rain. The brim offers good coverage of the ears and some coverage of the back of the neck, but you should wear a collared shirt if you need protection for the base of your neck.The hat's light weight makes it easy to fold up and place in your pocket. The fabric on the top and side panels is very light and doesn't crease easily. The brim holds its shape well, but is easily compressed and recovers nicely when unfolded. Along with the UPF 30 rating, that makes it an excellent choice to take with me "just in case" I need a hat during hot summer days.

The brim is a bit more firm than typical Dorfman Pacific hats--that's a plus! The top/crown is very thin, but overall, I like the hat. I usually wear a medium size and bought the black small/medium, but it still was large. I purchased adhesive felt at a craft store, cut in strips, and applied it on the inside of the band. This works great for fixing large hats. I did the same with a Kangol tribly a few months ago.

The hat itself is great. No complaints there on the fabric, construction or otherwise. It breathes very well and the brim is sufficiently wide. This is a great pool hat to beat the heat.With that being said, the color of this reddish/orange is way off from what arrived. The color is much more of a neon orange, I wouldn't even say it's burnt orange.

It’s large for the sizing unfortunately with a 57cm hat size the small medium is to small good quality hat but awkward size for me

Es de marca. El color me ha gustado. Es lo suficientemente grande para cubrirse del sol. Se de calidad y fácil de plegar para guardarla hasta en un bolsillo. Pero...Tiene dos ¿inconvenientes?:1- La talla combi L/XL toca la espaldaal mirar hacia arriba o al ponérsela un poco hacia atrás.2- La parte que cubre la cabeza es mucho más fina. Como parte positiva, evita la sudoración. Como parte negativa, quedan pliegues y arrugas lo cual puede no resultar "bonito". Otro punto negativo en este aspecto, es que con la extrema fineza de la tela, opino que quizás se cuele más luz UVA-UVB, sobre todo para gente con poco pelo.En definitiva, no ha sido barato y si encuentro otro mejor, lo compraré.

Paket kam schnell und gut verpackt. Der hut ist leicht sodass man wirklich nicht schwitzt daruntet. Lässt sich gut zusammenklappen und überall mit hinnehmen. Die Farbe passt zu allem und das helle ist in der Sonne nicht so heiß. Alles in allem der perfekte Hut zum wandern, im Urlaub, mit dem Hund spazieren gehen etc.

Bin mit dem Hut sehr zufrieden! schöne Farbe, sehr leicht auf dem Kopf, so dass man fast nicht mitkriegt, dass man ihn auf hat. Luftig durch die Luftlöcher, passt ausgezeichnet. Ich habe nichts zu bemängeln, deswegen die fünf Sterne. Die Produktbeschreibung trifft voll auf das Produkt zu.
