Real Purchase, Daily Use, Rugged, Louder than others, Charges Great, Bought another one!
The media could not be loaded. I received my Xtreme on Aug 4, 2021 and I Love It! I was apprehensive when I went to purchase this product because I didn't know how loud it would be and the cost. The video is what my Xtreme looks like now after its nasty tumble. I hope this helps!-Daily Use,I use this speaker daily in my old hunting truck that prefer to drive due to it being cheaper on gas and its more fun than my other truck. The radio is broken so I just use the Xtreme. I never have to plug the Xtreme in because it sits on my dash and charges exclusively from the sun.-Rugged,I am a firefighter, one day I was off duty and working on a project at home in the yard while listening to my Xtreme that was laying on the roof of my truck playing music and charging. My local station was dispatched to an emergency. I jumped in my truck and responded with lights and siren and forgot about my Xtreme. While responding to the emergency I saw something black in my mirror bouncing down the highway at interstate speeds (I'd rather not say how fast) and realized that it was my Xtreme. I was upset but I continued my response to the emergency. After about an hour, I was clear from the scene and on the way home. At this point it was raining outside. I found my Xtreme on the side of the road soaked from the rain and in rough shape from the nasty tumble. I immediately turned it on and paired my phone to it and it worked as if nothing had happened, solar charges and everything. I was impressed and thankful that the Xtreme was rugged enough to keep working.-Louder than other Bluetooth speakers,I own other Bluetooth speakers and did side-by-side comparisons, but they do not come close to how loud and clear the Xtreme is.-Charges Great(even after the nasty tumble)I take my Xtreme with me on my boat to the sandbar and I use it to charge my iPhone and listen to music at the same time. It just does whatever I want it to do!-Very happy and I want another one!100% am satisfied with this product. I have charged it once with the wall charger that was included when it came out of the box, all the rest has been solar. I want another one!

DEAD AFTER ONE MONTH
I've been wanting a decent solar speaker for a while now.I looked around a bit and ended up deciding on the Rukus Xtreme after seeing all the good reviews. Should have listened to the bad ones.I literally only used this speaker ONCE. Took it camping and hung it from a tree to soak up the sun. This was in the desert of Utah so it was very dry and sunny. No moisture caused the problem. While playing music at the campsite, the music would slow down and speed up like one of those drunk scenes in old cartoons. Was very weird and definitely made listening to music not fun bc it would make it seem as if you're drunk and woozy. That was the last time I used the speaker. It's been about a month and I tried to use it again and when I turn it on, it tries to connect to a device but then emits a loud POP and turns off. It may connect for 30 seconds then pops and turns off OR it simply turns off without connecting. It's been "charging" in the window for weeks now and has been showing 2 green battery dots since camping. No more charge. One issue I had with the speaker before it went out is the volume. Whenever you power it on and connect to a device, by default, it's at like 50% volume on the speaker. I could have my phone set to max volume but the speaker would still be at 50% or so. So if you don't turn the volume up on the speaker as soon as it pairs, the volume won't be very loud. If you do turn it up all the way on the speaker, it's quite loud BUT if the speaker has any connection issues or whatever, the voice comes on saying you're disconnected or whatever message it has and is insanely loud. This is a stupid feature that I wish was able to be turned off, but I guess it doesn't matter bc I'm returning it anyway.I can't recommend this speaker AT ALL. The sound quality was pretty decent, but the durability and longevity simply isn't there. Don't waste your money. Listen to the negative reviews and find another solar speaker solution.

Very balanced sound, with surprising bass
I don't know how these people did this, but I think there's some DSP (Digital Signal Processing) behind the lines to add bass and balance out EQ. I'm surprised that such small speakers give such a warm and balanced presence, including bass that you would not expect. I grew up listening to boom boxes, and the bass on here is better than those. Here's an interesting thing: I have never liked the quality of Bluetooth, but I remembered it back from like, 2012. It's come a long way, such that, before I received this I bought an audio cable to plug in directly, going with the general line that cable is more pure than Bluetooth. But on this device, cable sounds worse than Bluetooth. I suspect because it doesn't run through the same DSP filters as for Bluetooth; either that, or they're simply not tuned to cable. So if you use a 1/8" stereo cable to this thing, say, from your laptop, it will sound more midrangey, less bass, and less balanced.I got this on a deal at about $100 and I'm totally satisfied, for that price. The volume is just loud enough, especially inside. Outside, not so much. And the solar is a nice feature but it takes all day to charge . The unit is very sturdy and seems to be crafted of good materials.
