Comfy.... C/D runs wider than average
I purchased a pair of Merrell Breeze shoes 2 years ago (2011) & wear them almost every day. They're still in great shape & look like new. I decided to purchase 2 more pair in case they're discontinued. These shoes are lightweight, comfortable, have arch support, great cushioning, and a roomy toe box. They're comfortable with or without socks. The C/D width runs wider than average. Because of a foot problem, I usually buy EE width, but these C/D are wide enough for me. I also have arthritic bumps on the top of my feet which can cause problems with shoes that fit higher on the foot. Although the Merrell Encore Breeze 2 fits snugly across the top of my feet, they're comfortable & not too tight for me.They're treated with Aegis Microbe Shield which controls odor, staining & deterioration caused by bacteria, fungus & other microorganisms. I usually have to wear leather shoes, and thought the Merrell Breeze 2 would be hot, but they're not. The shoe is made of a mesh fabric that allows air in, yet isn't cold in the winter.I purchased this shoe in both black & deep tan (the only colors available in the C/D width). I wasn't sure if deep tan would look nice. I can't say that I love the color, but it goes okay with both my brown jeans & my ivory jeans. If you're on your feet a lot, you might like the comfort that Merrell Encore Breeze 2 provides.

If the shoe fits....(this doesn't)
I keep trying to will my feet and Merrell to be eternally happy together. I pretty much gave up 15+ years ago.I lusted after Jungle Mocs. I have a narrow heel and had problems w/ Merrell heel. Also my ~ high arch, normal width toe box is not simpatico w/ Merrell. I hit the Merrell jackpot once with one heavenly pair of "Polar Moc": beautiful pr of light silvery grey nubuck with 200g insulation and neoprene collar . I can no longer read the size. The foot bed fit perfectly. I had never seen them before nor since.I think either you have a Merrell foot or not.I usually wear a 9 or 9.5M.I ordered 9 based on the reviews. They are too long, sl narrow. Is it because of where my foot sits- my toes are not seated forward into the the toebox or is it the footbed of this shoe? I won't know til I find the correct size.I hoped when I read that the Breeze (1) gals don't like Breeze 2 fit; new Breeze 3 fits differently from Breeze 1 and 2 that maybe I could slip into one of the three versions.I may try a Breeze 3. I will try this in an 8.5W but only one color left. I am not sure if they will be re-stocked.I want these to work. I don't want leather right now. I like the fact that they are washable. The mesh doesn't affect me one way or another; it can be a PIA to clean mud/clay out of the little holes (toothbrush??). They are really light weight so I expect them to be much easier to travel/pack car/plane. The toe is more rounded than I like; they are not as troll toed as some clogs but they are more rounded than my Dansko Prof Clog (Sz39). In my case, I think it's best to go to a brick&mortar and try these on for size to get the fit right then online shop. Nice to take advantage of the sale price and color availabilty on Breeze 2 now that Breeze 3 has come out.

I love Encore Breeze!
It's all I wear - year round, even in freezing weather. They are so comfortable EXCEPT that I think the latest design iteration has dropped the heel cup a little which is not comfortable for me so I need to use a heel pad. I use an off-the-shelf orthotic insole instead of the merrell insoles and I could walk miles in them - much more comfortable than my New Balance shoes that cost much more. Over the years that I have been wearing Merrell Encore Breeze I have gone from an 8.5 to a 10 (part of the natural aging process my podiatrist says). The Encore Breeze have come along nicely with me although the 10's are just a little too large to wear without socks and the 9.5 are just a little snug with socks. So I keep both sizes.

Attractive, excellent support, excellent fit
In March, 2013, I ordered my first pair of Encore Breeze 2 - in black to match the color pants I most often wear, These shoes are definite favorites! So much so that I recently ordered an identical second pair - even though my first (frequently worn) pair still looks great - just so I have a pair in reserve in case Merrell ever stops making the Encore Breeze 2. So what do I like so much about them? I have a slightly wide size 8.5 foot, rather flat feet, and lower back problems. With these issues, it can be difficult for me to find comfortable shoes. The Encore Breeze 2 fit me perfectly in medium width, support my arches well, and are comfortable to wear for extended periods. They keep my feet warm in cool weather, worn with light socks, and cool in warm weather worn without socks. As a delightful bonus, they somehow manage to make my foot look smaller and narrower ... rare for shoes of this type. I highly recommend these shoes, especially If your shoe "issues" are anything like mine.

Sizing for this shoe has changed.
I have worn the Encore Breeze shoes in size 7 for at least 4 years. They always fit right out of the box. Not so this time. The shoe was a size 7 but it is too big; too long and flops too much in the back. Plus the foot bed seems very hard. The manufacturer has changed the style of this shoe and it is not better. Will not buy these again. Am very disappointed. It has always been an excellent shoe in the past. Merrell has lost a loyal customer.

Most Comfortable Shoe on the Planet!
Most comfortable & versatile shoe there is. I wear this shoe whenever I am wearing pants. I'd wear them with everything, but they look funny with shorts or skirts...I am a nurse & wear them on my 12 hour shifts with scrubs, when I'm off with jeans, & pants. I have worn them to Disney & walked around all day in total comfort, great for traveling & having to slip on & off in security, walked the dog, can run in them, go shopping... it's endless. Only problems: the nonblack ones do look a bit like old lady shoes, but the black are so dark, the mesh upper & sole blend so that they just look like streamlined black shoes. The insoles do wear out a bit quicker than average, so maybe order a second set when you first buy the shoes, but I have replaced mine with some from walmart & all is well. After I washed mine a few times in the washing machine they shrunk a bit, so I order a size up & wear thicker socks till they do.

A Merrell Fan
I have been wearing Merrell shoes for about 5 years now, and have found them to be the most comfortable in the world. However, I have to say that they quality of the shoes I am wearing now, compared to those I bought five years ago, is far worse. The first pair I remember, which was a pair of black Jungle slides, were wonderful. I wore them and wore them until I wore the tank treads completely off the soles. Since then, the quality of the shoes has become less good and less comfortable, and Merrell has practically given up making slides at all. I don't know what I will wear for comfort when all the slides are gone. Also, I must say that Merrell is a very difficult company to deal with, they are not a bit interested in your problems getting their products, or problems with the products, or in fact anything at all.I understand that that it is a big company with millions of customers in many countries, but I must say that as a UK wearer, I feel completely ignored.I have no problems at all with Amazon, which does what it says.
