Even tho this pole is a bass pole, I used it to catch some river trout. I am after this big trout that had earlier broke my last pole as I was hauling it in, then, it broke my old 8 lb test, hence, lost the fish. I have only used it once and caught an 11" trout with the pole performing like it should. (I bought the 5.91' pole). But, I like the fact that it telescopes down to a size that will fit into my saddle bag since I horse back ride to the location where I will be fishing. It seems to be a strong pole that should be able to catch the fish I am after, if I ever can get it on my line again. However, it is very stiff, hence, it lost a star. But, it does not cost an arm and a leg, so I guess I can not have things perfect for the price. I also like the packaging to protect the pole. It has a hard plastic pole tip cover designed for use when the pole is collapsed down and carrying it around. There is a soft carrying case to place the pole in. The packaging also came with a bubble wrap bag that just fits the soft carrying case. I kept the bubble wrap bag to add extra protection in the saddle bag. So far, I like the pole. It is performing as designed, excepting it is a little stiff. VC

Everything seems to be well made except for the reel seat. Does not close down far enough to secure the reel from wobbling. The tightening ring and/or the track it fits on are not very well engineered. Materials for securing the reel seem to be of questionable quality.

Got the rod all strung up, was about to put a hook on it and take it out, and the second extension from the top broke off. I’m now past the return date, and out the money. Thankfully it wasn’t an expensive rod and I figured something like this would happen, I was just hoping that I could at least use it.

So far the product holds strong (as in it doesn’t break easily) and is convenient for fishing on the fly. It’s a fantastic fishing pole for the price. I subtracted a star because the handle is too wide to fit in most fishing pole holders.

It is a really good looking fishing rod. Lots of detail and features. It casts well and is sensitive enough for Ned’s rig and Texas rigs. The only problem is the reel seat. It is too wide to hold a standard spinning reel. I had to hold it on with zip ties. I’ll keep it in the camper, but its not going to be very useful for certain trips since I can’t move the reel on and off easily.

The rod itself seems nice but I can't use it because all my reels don't fit, they're too loose. Not going to bother looking one that fits either... Might give it away as a gift

Bought this as a gift for someone. He didn't think it was strong enough to pull in any fish from the ocean. Since he caught 11 fish in one day, he has now changed his mind!! The report back was that he loves it and easy to pack in his luggage

In reality I would give them -cero- stars...I gave this rod to my son back in January 2020, because of the COVID-19 hes has gone fishing like 4 times yesterday he castes and the rod snapped on retrieval.It was only good for 4 trips, I guess Walmart sells better for less.30 bucks going into the toilet
