I don't know about you but there are some kinds of products that I end up purchasing LOTS OF... not because I need many of them or I'm a deranged collector but simply because everything you buy turns out not to be as good as you hoped. For me, keyboards and mice definitely fall into that category. But also, phone holders for the car! I've tried pretty much everything that's been on the market - the sticky silicone pads that are supposed to glom on to your phone but just get covered in dust and become useless, suction cup holders that always fall off at the WORST time, and holders that clamp onto the vents of your AC system which works fine in the summer keeping the phone and battery nice and cool but is a TERRIBLE idea in the winter where you are actively frying your battery and reducing its lifespan by trying to keep yourself warm. Finally, FINALLY... I've found a phone holder that does what it's supposed to do without downsides! Well, I suppose the ONE downside is that you lose the use of one of your cupholders but that won't be an issue for most and personally, I will never miss it. The phone has THREE controls you should be aware of - 2 on the back of the phone platform and another at the base. The control on the base the textured RING that you turn - this extends or retracts the 3 "legs" that will end up gripping the sides of your cup holder. For cupholders that are absurdly large (and which, I have never seen!), there are 3 silicone extender pads that you can push onto the "legs" that will let you grip these super giant cup holders. The two other controls are buttons on the back of the phone platform - the one on the bottom allows you to extend the "hooks" on the bottom that holds the bottom of your phone. So make sure you push that button before trying to extend that. The other control is the capsule shaped button on the top that you will use on a daily basis. Push the button and the sides will smoothly expand out to accommodate your phone. Then you put the phone in the cradle and push the sides in until it ratchets to a tight grip and you're good to go. Not only is it an elegant solution, you can do it with one hand which i tremendously appreciate. Anyway, it's been a long journey lol in trying to find a suitable phone holder and I'm confident I've finally found THE ONE! The build quality is nice and solid, the snake neck is bendable but firm to hold position well and everything just WORKS. If you need a phone holder, I can't recommend this one enough.

I bought a new car which didn't have an obvious spot for a phone mount. In my past 3 cars I used a mount from Pro Clip as they had custom mounts for most cars, and the one for my vehicles mounted my cell in a fantastic spot, not over a vent, or the radio, etc.Unfortunately (at the time) the Pro Clip mount for my new car put it over vents. So I looked for a different solution and found this cupholder mount.Installation is a breeze. I went with the more typical, slide your phone in mount rather than the magnet one. Note that this unit comes with both. I Qi charge my phone during the day at work and overnight and I believe the metal/magnet part that you put on the back of your phone for the magnetic mount system they provide would interfere.No worries though because the more typical holder works flawlessly! Phone is easy in and out. Holds firmly. There's a little button on the back for releasing your phone. Works great!The only slight negative is that at the height it holds your phone, there's virtually zero room under your phone. Makes plugging in a charging cable (or in my case for using Android Auto) a squeeze. But then I realized I didn't need to fully recess the base into the cup holder! I simply loosened it a bit, pulled it up an inch, and re-tightened it. Easy peazy. Now it's the perfect height, room for my wire. Zero issues.

This is a sturdy phone holder. It does not work well in the 2013 Kia Optima. The cup holders are set too far back (engineering flaw as well as others for this vehicle). I use this as a passenger and it works well. The adapter caps help the phone holder stay in place. The adapter caps do fall off if the phone holder is not in place (I put mine on the floor in the passenger side while not in use) I have a credit card holder on the back of my phone case which only allows me to put the bottom 1/4 of my phone in the adjustable phone holder as opposed to the whole phone. The phone mount does a VERY good job with such a small amount of phone to work with.
