Fabulous Heating Plate, Very Satisfied
My Subjective AdviceThe capacity for this product (20 chicks) should be considered for older chicks not day old chicks. This is fine for (20) 2-3 day-old chicks, but it's a bit small for (20) 2-3 week old chicks. The 35-capacity plate is best for 20 chicks that will grow. This product is better for 8-12 chicks (because they grow!). Day old chicks & ducklings need supplemental heat for about one month before the indoor temp (no lower than 75°F) is likely sufficient enough. Consider growth when buying the product.ReviewPurchased this for my new batch of chicks. I no longer have broody moms, so I needed something to keep them toasty until they sprout their feathers. It is a great heating plate. Reaches the perfect temperature to keep the chicks warm without burning them or making them too hot.I use a big ole' cardboard box with wheat straw bedding. There is room for the chicks to move about. It's important to ensure the chicks can leave from under the heating plate if they get a bit warm and return when they're cold. The plate is set up in the corner to trap heat on two sides while allowing entry on two sides. My chicks are doing quite well and very happy. I'll probably be buying the 35-chick heating plate soon.

Good brooder for people new to brooding chicks
The panel was easy to set up and use. The little chicks loved running in and out of it as well as taking cozy naps. The only drawback is that you have to adjust the temperature under the panel by raising the panel on the legs. This takes the use of a thermometer to figure out whether you have it at the right height once you start trying to establish or decrease the temperature to get the chicks used to cooler temps. You also have to factor in the room temperature as well as it seems to also affect the temperature under the panel. Since this was my first time with the Brinsea brooder, it was a learning experience. A really good thing about it is that in the case of power burps/outages, it automatically starts back up without having to go in and reset a bunch of digital things. We had a storm that caused numerous power burps, but the unit rebooted itself each time and kept the chicks warm. I would recommend this brooder, especially to folks new to the hatching and brooding of chicks.Update: I bought a second unit a few months later. Just as happy with that one as the first one. I like not having to worry about something getting too hot on the chicks. Just remember to adjust the height of the legs to adjust the temperature of what the chicks are experiencing as they get older--the panel heat doesn't adjust. If you see chicks staying outside the unit to sleep, it's time to adjust the panel to be a little higher. You will also need to adjust as they get taller. Always check the temperature they are experiencing with a good thermometer.

Worked perfect for my new chicks
This was a great choice for our new little flock. We had 6 chicks, all laying breeds, in with the eco glow. We also had 6 meat/dual purpose birds in a separate box with a traditional heat lamp. The chicks in with the eco glow seemed more adjusted and did well with the surprise cold nights we had in late spring when they were all about 12 weeks old and fully feathered. We put a heat lamp in the coop those nights and the dual purpose birds were tightly gathered under it while the chicks raised with this heater roosted as normal. It withstood the chicks using it as a playground, was easy clean, and overall a great choice. I don’t know if it would have been sturdy enough for our dual purpose birds due to theI extremely quick growth.

Great so far!
I tested this a few days before our chicks arrived to make sure everything is working properly. In this photo the heater was very short, and the thermometer was underneath. At first I couldn’t get it past 86 degrees but the thermometers sensor is on the back, so I flipped it so it was facing the heat plate and the temp was perfect. So if you have an issue where the temp is too low, maybe try that.I love the adjustable legs. My previous producers pride only had 3 height settings so this is huge for me! And the plastic cover will be a game changer for cleaning I’m sure. It is also not too hot to the touch so I’m not worried about my chicks being burned. It is a great size but definitely will not fit 30+ older chicks, I’d say more like 15.So far this is great and worth the price, I will update my rating if anything changes

Effective for Small Flocks, Keeps Chicks Warm and Healthy
The media could not be loaded. I used this heater for my flock of 8 chicks, and it performed admirably. It provided consistent warmth, ensuring my chicks stayed healthy throughout the colder months. Pros: • Consistent Heat: The radiant heat kept the coop comfortably warm, especially during chilly nights. • Energy Efficient: At 200 watts, it’s economical to run and safer than traditional heat lamps. • Compact Design: Its slim profile made it easy to install without taking up much space.Considerations: • Capacity: While the product description suggests suitability for up to 20 chicks, I found it most effective for around 10. With my 8 chicks, it maintained optimal warmth, but I would be cautious about relying on it for larger flocks without additional heating sources.Overall, this heater is a solid choice for small to medium-sized flocks. It offers a safe and efficient way to keep your chicks warm and healthy.Ease of installation:Installation was quick and hassle-free. The heater comes with a sturdy stand and optional mounting hardware, so I had it set up in just a few minutes. Whether standing it up or attaching it to the wall, the process was simple and required no special tools. Perfect for first-time users.

100% recommend
The safest option you can go with when raising chicks. I have no complaints about this product it does exactly what it needs to do! I love that you can adjust the legs as your chicks grow! High quality and even heat, a lot better than the traditional heat lamps.
