Loved this, hits me more emotionally than most poetry

Kim Addonizio is easily one of my favorite contemporary poets. Raw and real, “Tell Me” is a powerful book of poetry.

Probably my favorite book of poems. Ever. Addonizio speaks to my heart, and I have felt exactly as she speaks (but of course, I couldn't articulate those feelings as gracefully and powerfully as she does here).

Although the late able poet, Carolyn Kizer, praised the book highly, and because I had liked a couple or three of Addonizio's poems in slight exposure to her work, I was disappointed in this volume. It is mostly a screed of self-pity, rather than poetry. And limited gravely to boring outcries about being drunk, or about past bouts of liqoured depression. Not desperate, or otherwise down --- or wise--- ENOUGH.

I love all of Kim Addonzios' work and this is another fine example of why.She writes with a blunt edge and always tells the truth forcing the reader totake a little closer look at how her words tell their story.

What do women want is one of the best poems ever written. I bought the book because I had read tat poem and expected more of the same. Most of the poetry was mediocre, some of it was passable but it is not a great book. Not something you would go back to for inspiration.

The best collection from this wonderful American poet. A must-have collection of work in any poetry lover's library.

Excellent collection, I am glad to have been awakened from my poetry slumber by this masterpiece.

She is one of my favorite writers, so whatever I've read of hers so far has been worth the read.
