awesome look into the Appollo program history

Incredibly detailed information of every aspect of the Apollo 11 mission as well as all of the hardware that went into making it possible! This book will keep me busy for a while. It has a lot of great photos as well as really neat scans of original documentation used in the development of the program. To give an example of the level of detail, there are 2 whole pages dedicated to the research of the missing “a” in Neil Armstrong’s historic phrase “That’s one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind” including voice wavelengths down to the milliseconds to support the research.I’m not sure how this version differs from the non-anniversary edition of this book, but I’m thrilled with it regardless!I may now begin to collect the rest of this series!

I just wish it had some measurements and line drawings I'd like to build one small scale of course

I am just now getting into this book, but have read other Workshop Manuals on the space program and they were great. I learned so much, and I have been a student of the space program for over 40 years.

If you already own the previous version, don't buy this 50th anniversary edition. It only adds a chapter that has nothing to do with the Apollo program and it is mostly about SpaceX. That said, if you don't already own this, it is the most accessible detailed explanation of what was required to send man to the Moon. I found it very exciting and inspirational.

As a space geek (since Sputnik) of course this is simply a must have for the shelf. Only disappointment - if at all - was some copies of old documents and plans suffer from the old days of yucky photocopiers. Grainy and would love to see more detail. Otherwise, I enjoy this manual.

I bought this book to answer just a couple of questions about the mission, ended up reading the whole thing cover to cover. Fascinating and illuminating information about all aspects of the missions, like being allowed to go along with them from beginning to end. Highly recommended!

If you love blueprints and plans: YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOOK! As a huge Apollo junky, and an Engineering major: THIS BOOK ROCKS! I could waste days staring into this thing. AMAZING WHAT WE COULD DO IN THE 60s!
