Lovely hot press watercolor paper
This is some beautiful paper, and very economical for testing out your preferences. Hot press paper is smooth, so it behaves very differently from cold press, which has a lot of texture. The paints will behave differently and the paper absorbs water differently. But if you play with it, experiment, and keep open minded, you can really enjoy it! I love the ability to build up layers and details with the hot press. Also, handles ink and wash beautifully. Will definitely repurchase

Extremely smooth great workability
As a professional artist this is one of my favorite 'go to' watercolor paper when doing faces. It is very smooth and works differently than cold press. Cold press paper has a rougher texture and watercolor moves differently across it. The smooth surface doesn't take a lot of 'scrubbing' so if you are new to watercolor, student who is rough on paper, or a child just learning, this will not take a 'beating' like cold press. For those who are into crafts it does work well with many die cutting machines like Big Shot series. For the money this product is well worth it.

Highly recommend for artists who love crisp, clean results!
Fabriano Studio Hot Pressed Watercolor Paper pad is outstanding! Its smooth surface is perfect for fine details and precision work, while still handling washes beautifully. The paper is durable, absorbs pigment well.I have used some of this pad to assemble my own journals.

Arrived damaged but worth keeping!
This arrived dirty and crushed up. Not the best way to ship art paper. Also, just fyi this is cellulose paper, it is very smooth and feels a bit like cardstock.I was going to return it initially but then I decided to test some of the damaged pages with charcoal and gouache just to see how it handles them. Now I'm keeping it because it has a nice smooth but grippy surface for charcoal, and gouache glides across it. Even regular watercolor and watercolor pencils with a water brush don't seem to make it buckle or act finicky. It's not typical 100% cotton watercolor paper but I'm looking forward to trying new combinations of mixed media with it!

My new workhorse paper for illustration
I've been through the Arche's and other pricier paper, as well as much less expensive, economy paper, and I keep coming back to this one. It's hot press surface works very well for pen and ink (I use fountain and dip pens) and the paper takes light to medium washes quite nicely. The colors look good. The reasonable price keeps me from being overly-precious while I work. It's a reliable paper, that I am planning to happily stick with, at least until something even better comes along.

Value of paper.
This is great paper at a really good price. Professional asked where I purchased so he could get a pad of it.

My new favorite for nib pens
Why did I wait to get this? It feels wonderful under a dip pen with a drawing nib. It takes the ink and shred if you push to hard or work the nib back and forth. Quick sketch using: Brause Steno nib. Dr. PH Martin’s iridescent inks and Daler Rowney FW brown ink.

The bag was nice and well constructed and empty
I can't speak to the quality or lack thereof of this paper as I only received an empty Amazon bag. The bag it was supposedly in (which seemed quite nice and appeared to be the appropriate size for the item as well as being completely sealed. Kudos to the bag maker) contained nothing. In all fairness, if there had been something in the bag it would have been delivered right on time. Alas, there was nothing in the bag.So while I cannot judge the quality of the paper I will give this item1 star just for the construction of the completely empty Amazon bag the item was meant to come in.
