GEAppliances WE04X25280 Dryer Timer

Looked on GE parts website for the MFG part number, searched on Amazon, found and confirmed part was for my dryer. Part arrived 2 days earlier than expected. Read several reviews on Amazon, customers reviews made the job go smooth. However there's a small screw that holds control in place, PLEASE NOTE that if your doing it yourself the screw uses the smallest diamond bit. I was able to remove and screw back in with a needle nose plier, you'll need patience with plier. Read a few other reviews it took me less then 15 minutes to install, 35 minutes total.

We purchased this dryer timer for our GE clothes dryer to replace the second timer we had purchased for it. We fixed the issue ourselves and originally bought a timer from someone local that gave us the wrong one! It worked, but only on a few settings and the metal part of the timer that inserts to the knob broke off. We ordered this new timer from this seller on Amazon and ALL the settings work and it was simple to install. I strongly advise DIY’ers to take a photo of the broken part before you remove it, to properly install the replacement part. It makes it SO much easier to do it correctly. I would definitely order from this seller again!

This product is a quick plug and play once you remove the old part.My method was by carrying over 1 connection at a time.Took me about 15 minutes once I had the correct pin to remove my connections and worked instantly.Saved me $$$ on getting a technician.

This part is a perfect replacement for the one that finally died after 15-or-so years of heavy use in our 7-person household. However, before you order it and try to install it yourself, consider this:1) You'll be dealing with 120- and 240-volt wiring "up close and personal", so BE SURE to unplug the dryer power cord before you begin!2) Accessing the timer requires removing the back panel and a couple of inner assemblies in the dryer control panel, transferring several not-particularly well-marked wires from the old control to the new, and dealing with clips and other fasteners that secure the timer in place. Then, of course, you have to put it all back together again. (Suggestion: Take photos to document each step of disassembly, so you'll be able to remember where everything goes.)3) Be sure to correctly reconnect the dryer to its vent line when reinstalling the unit after the repair.If you doubt that you'll be able to do these steps with assurance, you're better off to order the part and hire someone who does this kind of work!

This product was so easy to install….I did it myself. I love it. It helped me save money on installation and a new washing machine.

Dryer timer arrived defective (drying time reduced by 70 percent ) requested a replacement instead of a refund (being nice instead of purchasing elsewhere). Wrong choice, waited for 2weeks for replacement, no shipping information was provided by Seva ( shipping company that was supposedly used, saying that because first ordered defective timer arrived usps) and having issues getting a refund 82.00$ now.

Product as described. Installed in less than 30 minutes. The only mistake I made was not ordering a replacement knob with it. Works great.

I replaced the timer on my machine when it went out. Repaired wanted to charge $75 consult, $100 part, $75 for the time to replace the part.I watched a couple of YouTube video and my dryer is back in business!This was an easy fix! I’m glad i fixed it instead of paying so much for a repairman.
