TRUArt Wood and Leather Pyrography Pen + Set of 35 Different Tips - Dual Power Mode - 30W and 15W, Gourd (Pen and Tips only, No case)

I have been using this on leather and, while it took a little getting used to, it is a much better improvement from my last burner. This burner doesn't burn your hands just by holding it, it gets very hot and relatively quick, the tips are interchangeable, the power variation switch definitely works, and is much more comfortable than basic ones from Hobby Lobby. It is not professional grade, but you shouldn't be expecting that. For what it is and the extras that come with it, it is well worth the price. The only criteria left to find out is durability and longevity.

This pen is perfect! Seems very durable fits comfortably in hand and directions are very clear on NOT to change tip out while tool is hot. Perfect tool for tinkering around on wood to create your own unique artwork. It comes with an excellent selection of tips a nice carrying case to hold your pen and tips a small case for the other tips fits neatly inside case so you have everything you need in one spot. Very nice. I originally bought the pen with tips then I purchased the entire kit which I absolutely love!

I'm starting on my first project with the pen, and I'm having a blast. There is a wide variety of tips included, and the pen heats up like a dream. Some people apparently have trouble with the tips breaking, but the included instructions are clear to use patience, not pressure. The build appears to be higher quality when compared with some of the others I've seen here. It's a little heftier than some of these little plastic soldering irons. And what sold me on it was the replacement guarantee. I appreciate a company that will stand behind its product. Bravo!

Pros:-Inexpensive and does the job.-Comes with a ton of different tips and stencils.-Heats up and cools down quicklyCons:-The tip keeps coming loose while using. You’ve got to let it cool completely before tightening.

I would like some kind of system where the tips pop on and off with a button release so you can change them while hot. It's a great tool, I am very happy with it

I absolutely love wood burning. My current tool is temperature controlled but doesn't lock into the temperature setting, which is one of the reasons I got this one. The set I ordered included the pen and tips, but no case (which was fine because I already had one from my previous tool). I used the tool for what I consider to be a small project, and it did really well. But last night, barely one week into use (probably less than 12 hours of usage over the week) the bits wouldn't thread. I tested my other tool to see if it was the bit, but it threaded perfectly on the first try. The new tool is the problem. :(

It's a great, economical pyrography pen. So far I've tried it out on a couple of pine boards. I have been letting it completely cool between changing tips, and it's been working fine. I have had some trouble burning over a line I've made with a pencil because the graphite keeps gunking up, but maybe carbon paper would be a better solution.

On my second use, the tip is stripped out, can't screw in tips.
