My Weigh UltraShip 35 Lb Electronic Scale,black; blue

The scale is not a superstar but for $29 it can't be beat. The detachable display\controls really make it usable for just about any application. We use them in a harsh environment where they last just about as long as the $300 scales we replaced with this little guy. They get dropped or knocked off just as quickly as the more expensive variety but it hurts a lot less to spend a tenth of the money replacing it. At that price we bough extras just to sit on the shelf for when we do destroy one we just replace it. The little caveat to the whole thing is you have to buy the power cord separate. So it's really $29 plus $8 but on the up side you don't have to replace the power cord when the scale breaks, so I guess it you use it as we do it actually saves money by not buying a new $8 cord with each replacement. All in all a great deal for a nice little scale.

I bought this scale to replace the same model that I broke (my fault - I dropped it from about 5 feet) which worked great in a food preparation setting for about a year. It has a nice backlight and a the display is removable which is great for our application. We are able to put the scale down where we prepare the food and put the display up at eye level so the food item doesn't cover the display. You can turn on or off the back light as well as the auto off setting, just look in the manual for instructions. We set it to stay on so we don't have to constantly turn it on but just make sure to turn it off or you'll drain the batteries pretty quick after leaving it on overnight a few times. I wish it was able to withstand more abuse, but for a scale with this functionality at this price you can't ask for too much.

It seems to be accurate for me, though you may always want to round up anyway. It’s good practice to prevent overcharges.The one thing I don’t like is that when you first turn it on, you have to wait up to ten minutes, or your readings may be inaccurate. Maybe all scales do that, I don’t know, but it’s very inconvenient when you’re trying to get something done quickly. Granted, you’ll find something to do as it (warms up?), but it’d be nice if you could just turn it on and go.

I absolutely love this scale. I am a baker and I tend to weigh mostly in pounds and ounces, and this scale does that beautifully. The screen detaches and extends from the base and has quite a long cord on it so you can extend it out, which works great for me if I have a big bowl and I can't see the screen when it is attached. Plus it snaps right back into place easy when you are done. The battery life has been excellent on this. However in the description it says free AC adapter included, I did not receive one. I have filed a claim and will let you know how that goes. The company did ship the product really fast though. I read another review about the scale not staying a zero, this will happen if you do not keep it on a flat surface, it is that precise! All in all I love this scale and I think it is a great deal, I would definitely purchase again if I had to.If I had to pick one thing that I did not like about this scale, it would be the fact that the hold button does not last that long. Being a baker, lets say I have chocolate weighing on the scale and I need to add more to get the amount I need, well I will push the hold feature and go to chop more chocolate, well if I take to long chopping the chocolate before I add it to the bowl the screen will shut off and I will have lost my weight in the bowl. So then I have to empty the bowl out and tare the bowl to zero then add my chocolate back in.... But I have learned to work with this feature now, I just take the hold off push down on the scale a little bit then put the hold back on every so often. So I would suggest if you are doing stuff like that, make sure you have all things to be weighed already ready.Ok so I contacted the company to file a claim for my missing AC Adapter, they answered back that day and shipped it out the next day, with no problems! Awesome customer service!

Used this scale for many years before it got wet when we accidentally left it outdoors. It fell off a table, still worked and was accurate. We've used it in the kitchen for food. Outside for our birds. Lots of traveling and it still keeps ticking! The one we got wet eventually dried out and started working again too! This is the only scale I will ever use. Great company. Great product.

My first Ultraship 35 just slowly bit the dust, the on-off switch failing and other buttons taking several punches to react. I've had the scale for six years and use it all the time, mostly to weigh cooking ingredients but also envelopes, packages and other items. So, what to do? I'm replacing it with a new one. It arrived and is better than the original. Smoother transitions and slower button times. I use it only with batteries and I don't remember replacing the batteries in the six months it lasted. I got one for my daughter who ships crafts on Etsy and hers is still going strong. Easy to use, durable and I figure it costs about $5 a year. Really good product.

Measures accurately I’m not sure what the added attachments do. Price is expensive. Good quality though

I bought this scale to weigh my guinea pig (recommended to help monitor health) and for my postal needs. I have no complaints. It has a high weight capacity so I can weigh my heavy textbooks easily. It can weigh in grams, kilograms, ounces, or pounds and ounces (definite plus). There is a hold button so you can see the weight after you remove a large package that obscures the readout. There are attachments to the scale so you can weigh tubes and letters. Also, the AC adapter was received as promised. I know some of the other listings for the same product had reviews saying the adapter was not received. And last, but not least, the scale is very accurate and consistent.
