Sony VCLHGE08B Wide-End Conversion Lens for 37mm/30mm Camcorders

Overall I am satisfied with this prodduct. I had to film a cheerleading showcase event where they took up the whole basketball floor and the regular lense would cut out some of the individuals. I had to alternate which side to cut out. With this lense I was able to get about 97% of the floor and was able to get everyone on the screen.It has very minimal distortion and did not effect the quality. The only thing that I wish would work better is the cameras ability to focus with it. The camera was slower to focus and you could only use about 50% of the optical zoom before it was all fuzzy.

The lens extends the 16:9 just enough, without distortion.The only item that could make this an "I love it", is if it was supplied with a lens cap to keep finger prints off the lens when not in use, and my camcorder is 'hanging' by my side. It's about 60mm across, an ill-regular size, and cant accept any of the snap-on lens caps.Other than that, I do love it.

Not worth the money. Sure it's made by Sony, but never did I think there will be a product from this reputable company that would disappointment me. This item is even listed on accessories compatible with my camcorder (HDR-CX550V). Quick release will be the only thing that this item even deserve a 1 star. It does not work!!! Camcorder unable to focus with this attached (even on my DCR-TRV27). Another complaint would be; if your going to put this as among the official list of accessories, make sure it works with said item it's suppose to accessorize. The diameter of the lens is too big that it covers the flash. HDR-CX550 supposed to be used first as a camcorder and second as a snap shot camera (a whole new review on to itself). In summery: Does not work. One for its intended camcorder (hdr-cx550) and I believe (for less than 50% of usable focus) for any camcorder for that matter.

this lens has helped me film indoor tight space events like birthdays that before was a real pain by panning back and forth. Now i can relax. Easy fit to my dcr-sx65, nice quick attachment that comes with it is great.

This was exactly what I needed for my video camera. The product is very easy to use and the results have been pleasing.Anne

A very good solution to record videos of a close subject.Dont work well with the camera zoom, the image loses foccus.I would reccomend if you want wider panoramas.

pretty good but do not zoom too much, use for wide angle only. excellent price, easy to change lens with adaptors.
