Seems good value.
Only time will tell, but the apperance seems qood quality, and fitting of the cowl was very easy. We have high winds and a loy of salt content in the air, meaning things can rust quickly, so I'll monitor the cowl for a while. I am planning to buy more, after I've seen how it lasts for a while.

The Jury is out.
The reason I bought this product is I live in in one of the highest settlements in Scotland and I have issues of considerable volumes of driving rain entering my flue liner. The previous model of cap was clearly not doing the job! Whether this product does the job remain to be seen.Potentially I suspect that this is a reasonable product. I do however have various issues with it. I would point out that this product is made of thin gauge mild steel which has been coted with some sort of weatherproof finish. I suspect that it will not have a very long life particularly as it will, of course, be subjected to hot corrosive gasses. (The quality of the materials used do relate to the selling price.) When I unpacked the cap and put it together I noted that the screws holding the top onto the lower body were just finger-tight. These I tightened. It should be noted that the four stays which fasten the device to the chimney pot with the band should be screwed onto the OUTSIDE of the body and not as shown on the picture on Amazon. Only two of the screws provided gripped the thread in their respective holes. The other two had not been properly tapped. This is overcome by fastening nuts onto the projecting screws. (You'll need to buy these if you don't have them in stock!) Because the steel body is thin, fasten nuts on all four screws since over time unless this is done the screws are likely to come adrift as the main body deteriorates. The steel securing band is shown as being inside out on the Amazon photo! Turn it the other way so that the screw is on the outside. The devise is easily fastened onto the chimney pot using a medium flat blade screwdriver by tightening the screw on the securing band. TAKE CARE WHEN WORKING AT HEIGHT!

Didn't last a year!
Didn't last a year. The thin steel tags which held on the top cover have simply disintegrated, the top or lid arrived in the garden this morning. When it is retrieved from the chimney I expect the rest to be the sameI certainly will not be buying this again. I will go for better quality although this one wasn't cheap.

Great
I bought this to comply with the regulations concerning gas fires. Although I didn't fit it myself - chimney about 30 foot off the ground - it took the roofer minutes.Looks good too !

Does the job very well
My exisitng chimney cowl idenitical to this one had rotted through and was flapping in the wind. Wsily replaced with this one. I would think it will fit most sizes of chimney pots give the way it fastens onto the pot. Really easy to do and would recommend.
