Proscan Progressive Scan DVD Player, Auto Load

I purchased this as a secondary DVD player to go along with a small flat screen tv I'd bought for when the grandkids come over. (Every once in a while we need to pop in "Chicken Run" just to keep people happy) I very much enjoy the simplicity of use. The remote is rather small and could be more simplified, but when all else fails, you only need to touch one of about 4 buttons on the DVD player to do whatever you want it to do.

For the money you cant beat this DVD player. If you want to watch a DVD, well this will allow you to do that. Small enough that you can move it around to other TVs, garage, kids room, wherever. This would also be great in a vehicle or RV.

I am very pleased with the performance of this dvd player. It does everything its supposed to, its small and sleek, and yes the remote does have a subtitle button. I have a higher priced dvd player that wouldn't play recordable or rewritable discs, but this Curtis player plays every disc I put in. The picture is clear and the sound is great, thinking about purchasing another for my living room. I would recommend this player to anybody on a budget and looking to play burned discs as well.

I could not agree more with the other reviews. I bought this for my Mom that doesn't mess with video equipment at all but since we got her a new flat screen, I thought it would be nice to have her a DVD player so I could turn it on and let her see the videos of her grandkids.I have had everybody that know a lot as well as little about these things and one person got the thing to play a few pictures of a slide show. That's it. It won't play anything else. The remote is some kind of rubber and totally useless. It's came out of the box broken literally in two. Not one button works on the thing. I am contacting the company and seeing if I can send it back. If not it's trash. It's of no use whatsoever other than maybe a paperweight!People go on about it being cheap. It was but it's money wasted. Even cheap items brand new out of the box should work. This player has not worked at all.

I needed a replacement DVD Player after mine took a powder.Saw this at a very reasonable price so i bought it....it plays everything,store bought dvd's...dvd-r's...dvd+r's etc...but i myself like to fast forward through some boring parts of movies and it seems like this products fast forward button isnt so fast..it says 32X speed but trust me folks...it is more like 3X speed....now,i myself am kinda picky and like what i buy to behave a certain way and needless to say i am disappointed in this product..but it does play and am at least happy with that.But at a later time i will another DVD player to replace this one.The following is an update on this-I never took into account before purchasing the remote control.....the remote control play button gave out after 3 months of use,cannot seem to fix it or even get a new one-i would never buy another one of these again for now it wont even read alot of my dvb's

I was skiddish about buying a DVD player much cheaper than the others, but it's Amazon and I can return it if it sucks, so I got it. I've yet to have any issues, and my daughter watches a LOT of movies. It plays her old slightly smudged/scratched movies AND plays my burned movies with no fuss. I will be buying many more of these when I get my house (closing at the end of JUNE!!)

I really like the DVD players. The only problem I have is that I also purchased the suggested HDMI cords only to fid out that the DVD player does not have HDMI jacks. Other than that they ( I bought a couple of them) have worked great so far.
