Not Deep enough.
First I will say that if used correctly it does exactly what it is supposed to do. I've seen a lot of reviews that talk about how it doesn't work. One of them came with a video of them using it and showing how it didn't work. They were holding it about 2 inches from the wall and waving it all over the place. All I could say was is that is how you were using it, no wonder it didn't work. You do have to hold it to the wall if you are going to use it and except for AC lines you calibrate against the wall. Use it correctly and it will do a good job.Unfortunately, the scan was not as deep as I needed. I was unable to find the joists underneath the carpet, through the carpet. Which is what I was looking for. It may be that the sub floor is a concert board which it says in the directions gives it problems. (considering what I found in other areas of the house it wouldn't surprise me) So it was as useless as my $5 stud finder for that purpose. I did test it on the wall and it was perfect. I also used a blanket between it and the wall folding it to see how deep it would go and it didn't fail me until I had about an inch thickness of material between it and the wall.I am however going to keep. First my stud finder is old and an edge finder. This one does find the center point and it does (if used correctly) find AC wiring withing a couple of inches. which my old one doesn't. So over all I am very happy with the stud finder, but disappointed it couldn't go quite deep enough.I really could have given it five stars, except it didn't do quite what I wanted it to do and it kept giving me a low battery warning on the battery that came with it. It worked fine when I replaced the battery.

A must have tool for DIYr
The device is easy to use and I believe it is accurate re finding the stud center. I used this device to install a TV mount on the wall and was able to do the job in 30 minutes. On the locating live wires behind dry wall, I’m not so certain but it seems indicates correctly when I ran a test near and around wall plugs. I would recommend if you’re a DIYr as I recall my neighbor once drilled a hole on a water pipe that ran through the wall. You don’t want the mess.

DONT BUY
This device was very inconsistent in identifying studs and the center of the studs. So much that I simply could not trust it. Running it across the wall and identifying the studs worked somewhat, though it would often say the center ran for about an inch or more. Then i would mark that same stretch of wall expecting the vertical studs to be in the same spot.... it was not even close. There is no way this is correct. Buy something with a lot more buyers and a lot of positive reviews.... even if its more money.

Didn't work for floors
The item's description states that it "includes four different scanning modes for woods, beam, joist, metals, AC wires and deeply embedded objects behind floor, ceiling, wall." I got it specifically to find floor joists in a standard floor, but unfortunately it failed to do that on any setting. It probably would work well if you need it for drywall, but it didn't meet my needs.

Inaccurate
It doesn’t give an accurate reading. Please don’t buy.Edit: tried it on multiple projects now. Have to make multiple holes everytime Finally I compared its reading with my friends $55 stud finder and it was very evident that this machine is faulted. But I have decided to return it now.

DOA, feels cheap and flimsy
The item was dead on arrival and returned. I used the battery, that was included and two other batteries of my own, but none of them made it work. Since I wasn't able to use it, I can't say anything about the functionality, but it felt light, cheap and flimsy in my hand. After returning the item, I went to Lowes and got a good name brand stud finder for only $3 more, than this one costs...

Great Value
I searched long to find an affordable, versatile and easy to use stud finder. I do a lot of renovations and need to locate wood, metal and wires. The tool is made by Travool, which I recently borrowed one from a neighbor. It was reasonably accurate, but I wanted more features and the top which showed the width of a typical stud. This fit the bill and I was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy for the "Center" of the stud. However, I am still getting used to accurately identifying the true stud "edges". I was also pleased with the Live AC and metal features which worked well on copper wire and carbon steel. The most convenient feature is not having to continuously hold down the scan button after you calibrate to the wall thickness.

Read and follow the instruction
They work well when you follow instructions. One review obviously didn't do that and gave it a bad review. These are density change systems. If you have standard walls they should find your studs. Just do the process twice to insure that you have found a stud. The centering seems to be accurate.
