Kuumba Made Egyptian Musk Fragrance Oil, Long-Lasting Small-Batch Perfume Roller, Vegan, Alcohol-Free, .125 Fl Oz

Last year, I bought the famed Egyptian Musk from Auric Blends expecting all kinds of bliss as the reviews constantly painted. I did not know what to expect, but I got a bottle that had no scent from the bottle but required being warmed up by your body. When it was warmed up, the scent was pretty musky indeed and I suppose I did like it, but it wasn't a scent I felt I could passionately rave about like so many others could. Recently, I discovered I got a couple of comments on that review saying I have received a watered down version that no longer resembles the original scent that so many raved about and Auric Blends is cutting costs and cheapening their product. A lot of the reviews during and after the time of my review had those same sentiments as the comments. I saw many times that reviewers were recommended they turn to KUUMBA MADE EGYPTIAN MUSK as a replacement because it strongly resembles the original Auric Blends scent. So out of curiosity I ordered this! Finally I received it and sniffed it from the bottle and wow! What a pleasant scent! It's musky yet it's a clean kind of musk. Almost powdery. When I put it on me, it strangely gains a cinnamon-like scent (my chemistry?) and it's really nice, I have to say! I actually wear this one daily because it is that much more pleasurable. It's musky, clean, and on me, slightly sweet! I didn't even touch the Auric Blends one after a week of trying to really like it. Yet here I am wearing this one every day. I know what everyone's raving about now. :D People who hug me can't help but sniff me!

Update, Feb 8, 2018... I returned the bottle I reviewed earlier (below) and then bought a new one...it was just as horrible, so I'll be returning this new bottle, too. And it'll be a long time before I try and buy this Egyptian musk oil by Kuumba...Idk what happened...I've been buying this product from Amazon for YEARS!!!! I REALLY hope the same thing doesn't happen w their Persian garden and vanilla musk!!! I really wish I could have reported SUCCESS w this most recent bottle, but whatever little smell there is just smells awful. Buyer beware!!! ***FYI…under NORMAL circumstances, I would be giving this product 5 stars…MORE if possible!!! However - and I have NO idea what happened - I very sadly HAVE to give it a ONE!!!!! Here is why: I have been using Kuumba perfume oils for many years, and I LOVE them!!!! They are the ONLY perfume I EVER wear, for many wonderful reasons. Until now, I have ALWAYS been completely satisfied with the MANY Kuumba oils I have purchased here on Amazon over the years. The two Kuumba scents I wear the most are Egyptian musk (cool/cold weather) and Persian garden (warm/hot weather), but I also get their vanilla musk (for cool/warm weather or to mix with the Egyptian musk) and Arabian sandalwood (for the December Holidays!) just to mix things up a bit. I also recently bought a small bottle of their lavender lace, just to try it out…it's really pretty and put it on my wrists sometimes in the evenings when it's time to relax. So as you can see, I truly am a happy and loyal Kuumba customer!!! Well, anyway…back to the sad part of the story…this review is about a bottle of Egyptian musk that I purchased on 12/10/17 and received a few days later. AND OH NO…IT SMELLS HORRIBLE!!!! It isn't just that it doesn't smell like Egyptian musk (which it doesn't, not even a little)...it just actually smells BAD. I think the best way to express it is that it smells like it somehow spoiled…perhaps it's just old, or maybe it’s been stored in extreme heat (or cold?) or...well, I don't even know what, but it is NOT a scent I wish to wear!!! My husband - who always LOVES the way I smell - came home from work and literally said, "Ohhh…what's that smell??" Seriously, I'm not kidding. He said it almost immediately upon saying hello to me (I had put some on as soon as I got it...and despite it being so unpleasant, I didn't wash it off bc I wanted to see if he'd notice. He did.), so I knew I wasn't imagining it. Idk if it's this particular bottle - or maybe even the entire batch from which this bottle came - of Kuumba’s Egyptian musk that smells bad like this, but I will definitely be returning this particular bottle. However, I will happily buy another one in the meantime bc this really is a wonderful product, and I have faith that this was just a one-time blooper. And I better hurry up bc I just finished the last drops of my old - and normal-smelling - bottle, and it feels strange not to smell like…me!!! 😱😜🤗

I purchased the Egyptian Musk scent after smelling it at a store but it was very expensive so I thought I try Amazon. It smells exactly the same as the one at the store. It’s very light yet somewhat strong. It’s smells very clean and a bit sweet but not like a gourmand scent. The longevity is very good as I put it on at night and I could still smell it when I woke up. It’s a lovely fragrance. My only complaint is that the roller ball doesnt allow oil to come out sometimes so it takes a while to put on.

I love this perfume oil, it has a nice light decent that lasts all day and for a great price.

Not the strongesttttt most “in your face” scent like some reviews already hint at but the scent is definitely there, especially if you put it around the neck, collarbone, and behind the ear. Bro I can literally smell it. I can smell it even hours later. It’s not the strongest, definitely faint. But it’s thereeeee and the scent just makes me feel like I’m getting a hug. It probably last me a couple of hours til I have to reapply. I have yet to layer it but on its own, I personally think it’s decent. I will say tho if ur looking for something stronger, and bigger (bottle is tiny but it’s lasting me so far) I would go for the Nemat Egyptian Musk Fragrance Oil. Regarding Nemat, I’ve actually only tried the vanilla one and mannnn did it have staying power 😍 I just didn’t feel like paying the $20

A friend was wearing this and it was love at first scent. She wore it while we played golf, and it was so pretty and light, I caught whiffs of it over the 4 hours, I had to try it. I ordered it and what I got from Amazon looks like hers, (she bought hers in a retail shop) but the scent quality/longevity not the same. When I first opened it I was thrilled, but by the second use I could barely smell it. I thought the roller was blocked, maybe I had a cold, but after 30 days it’s not any better. Pretty disappointing, would not order again.

I have a very strong sense of smell. This product has a lovely scent, but it is VERY weak. I exchanged my first bottle of this for a new one with high hopes that I had just gotten a bad bottle the first time. The second bottle is only marginally stronger than the first one I received, and still very, very weak. That is why I'm giving it one star, along with the fact that the quantity is tiny for a $10 bottle. If it was concentrated, that price would seem reasonable for this amount of product, but that's not the case here. (Note: I realize there are some who will say that some people "just can't smell musk". I personally happily use many other musk-based fragrances and find them all to be easy to smell. This is not an issue of anosmia. In fact, I agree with some other reviewers that it is similar to the Auric Blends Egyptian Goddess scent -- not exact, but very similar. That was my favorite scent for more than 20 years, and I recently stopped ordering that product because it, too, is now so much weaker than it used to be. I had hoped that this Kuumba Made product would be a better option. Sadly, it is not.)
