What rockford fosgate amp would work best with theses subs?

Any that could handle serious power, these things bang, I got a fosgate punch p1000.1bd only reason I got the amp because of the internal clip meter once you got that set bang bang.

what size amp should be used?

Fred it all depends on how much money you want to spend. You could buy a punch 1000bd or step to the power series t 1000bdcp I got a t 1000 and love it I'm pushing somewhere around 1500-1600 watts rms at 1 ohm the only thing is the lower the ohms ( impedance) the lower efficiency average is going to be which means how clean your bass is going to be. My next amp is going to be a t2500 on these subs the only thing is that I'm going to have to rewire these subs from 1 ohm to 4 ohms so I don't blow them up on the bass heavy song I play thru that amp to the subs.

Do these 4 ohm subs come already wired to a 2 ohm configuration inside the box?

The box is set at 1ohm you need a 1 ohm stable amp to work correctly. Best to get the fosgat 1200 mono 1 channel amp.
