Pro: looks very professional and does help stabilize your camera a lot. Con: I use this to both shoot video and photos. I am not sure if the hood blocks the sensor or not.. but seems images and video seem slightly off color.. on a Nikon 7100 and 3100. the sensor is to the right of the lens. I may cut a hole in it to allow the sensor to see. That is the only thing i see wrong with this item. All in all, this is a beautiful item and addition if you plan to shoot video or even photography. I cuts a lot of "side" light out to help produce much more vibrant photos (once you get past the sensor problem).. well worth getting..

Surprisingly great. Considering the price, I was expecting this to be a piece of crap. So far it is not! Everything works great and nothing has fallen apart. the shoulder rig feels great, follow focus fits, and the matte box is fantastic. For the price, I could not be happier. Time will tell how the product holds up, but so far I love it and works pretty much as great as some products I've used 10 times its price, despite feeling a little bit cheaper. But if it works who cares? Definitely recommend it. I used this with a canon c300 and everything fits great

The price is great but wish I’d see the upgraded version before I purchased. Only because it has a few more options that I would have really liked. The shade is a little flimsy and rattles when I walk. The sound was getting picked up my the camera so I had to tape them closed. Other than that it is a great intro product.

Overall this shoulder Rig is ok but don't expect too much from it. I find that having the handles in front of the camera vs sitting behind the camera helps it stay more steady providing smoother footage. However, that takes away the ability to use the incredibly subpar matte box. The matte box moves around and doesn't stay in place when you really need it to. It has messed up a few of my shots getting in front of my camera lens. Don't buy for the matte box and if you really need a matte box then purchase longer 15mm rods

I do love this rig. I’m a very clumsy person with the ambition and motivation to eventually get good shots. The overall rig plus camera does add weight to your kit. Some videographers would argue not to get the rig. To each their own. Its heavier true, but this actually helps me to obtain balance and control. So it’s great. Tiny Complaints: The follow focus belt liked to slide off the camera a lot. The belt also, because of the hanging tail, gets stuck in the in the bars of rig, so focusing can be quite frustrating at times. Takes some calculation when installing it and then re-adjustment at times. Matt boxes are kinda flimsy and cheap. Worst complaint: Shoulder weight and extension was not necessary. I have ended up not using it at all and it’s stored away. Simply put it rests on my shoulder awkwardly. I’ll have to add something custom to make it fit correctly. This product has helped me create great stable shots without a tripod. This is serving it’s purpose. Recommended.

This is a great rig to use with a dslr. I am just getting started in videos and this is an ideal rig to begin with. It adds the stability to make video interviews easy to do, and for longer shots helps cut down on camera movement. It Improves the quality of videos. The shoulder brace adds greatly to the stability. It does not replace a tripod but tripods cut down on mobility. Great price. I am using this as a building block to add a mic, handle, etc.

Good product! On time delivery as they stated. Now the shoulder thingy isn't the greatest idea. All the parts were strong aluminum! The follow focus wheel had a pro feel and function to it. Barn doors plastic but sturdy. I'm happy and recommend this product! I'm sure I'll look very good to my next client.

I initially gave this a rough review. I must admit, what I did not like about it was due to my lack of experience with the rig a few years back. I use it as a backup now to my steady cam rig, but also works great mounted to a tripod as a back cam with places to mount audio gear and a monitor.
