California Golden Spray Millet: A Treat Fit for Feathered Royalty!
Introduction:Calling all bird enthusiasts, feathered companions, and chirpy connoisseurs!Let’s talk about the California Golden Spray Millet, the avian equivalent of a gourmet feast. Picture this: your little feathered friend perched on a tiny golden throne, nibbling away at this delectable treat. It’s like a Michelin-star meal for our fine-feathered pals! The Backstory:For over two decades, Golden Farm Products has been cultivating spray millet with the precision of a master gardener. Their secret? A magical blend of fertile soil, sun-kissed days, and a dash of bird-whisperer wisdom. Imagine Napa Valley vibes, but for birds – that’s where this millet hails from. The Harvest:Picture a team of dedicated millet harvesters, donning tiny sunhats and wielding even tinier sickles. They tiptoe through the fields, plucking each millet head with the gentleness reserved for hummingbird kisses. These golden grains are then sorted, like precious gems, ensuring only the crème de la crème make it into those iconic yellow boxes. The Nutritional Symphony:Let’s talk health benefits. This isn’t just any millet; it’s the VIP (Very Important Pellet) of bird snacks. Here’s why your feathered friend will flap their wings in delight:Stimulating and Entertaining: Whether your bird is a fledgling, a juvenile, or a seasoned avian sage, this millet keeps them on their toes. It’s like hosting a Broadway show in their cage – drama, suspense, and a standing ovation!Natural Foraging: Birds are born detectives. They love poking around, exploring nooks, and unearthing hidden treasures. The California Golden Spray Millet encourages this natural behavior. Sherlock Holmes would approve!Stress Buster: Life as a bird can be tough – dodging squirrels, avoiding rain showers, and maintaining that impeccable plumage. But fear not! This millet lightens their stress load. It’s like a mini vacation to the Canary Islands (pun intended). How to Serve:Hang it in their cage, dangle it from a branch, or let them hold it between their tiny talons. Watch as they nibble, peck, and savor each grain. It’s like a gourmet picnic – minus the checkered blanket. The Verdict:Taste: 5/5 (Birds have been spotted doing the happy dance mid-air!)Texture: 4/5 (Crunchy, yet delicate – like a symphony of tiny cymbals)Fun Factor: 10/5 (Because birds deserve extra credit for cuteness)So, fellow bird enthusiasts, grab your California Golden Spray Millet, scatter it like confetti, and watch your feathered companions revel in their culinary delight. Remember, every peck is a vote of approval. Bon appétit, little aviators!

I tried. They failed.
Disappointing, to say the least. The first included photo shows millet spray from another Amazon seller on the left and Golden Farms' millet spray on the right. Right away you can see that the Golden Farms millet is thinner, and shows a LOT of damage from mishandling. The color seems a little washed out on the Golden Farms millet as well. Both sprays are shown on 6 inch black and white tile.My second photo shows the millet that has fallen off the sprays at the bottom of the box. It fills a 7-cup plastic bowl and weighs just short of a pound. That's very nearly 20% of what I purchased. I haven't tried giving it to my finches yet, but I don't smell anything 'off' as other reviewers said. On the other hand, I also don't smell anything particularly nutty either (as you'd expect from a bag of seeds). My guess is that this millet is over dried or very old.As I told my wife, I'm not upset that I purchased this millet. I *am* upset that I was sold this product. The price when I ordered was $28. With the 1 pound of waste bringing my usable sprays down to 4 pounds, my total cost was $7/lb. That puts it essentially at the same price as my previous millet I was happy with, FM Brown's.I'm happy to send the seller a message and will be sending this millet back. Perhaps the next buyer will like it better than I did.Edit: In packaging the millet for return to Amazon I found another cup or so in the bottom of the Amazon box, making a full half gallon of wasted seed. It was spilling out of the bottom of the Amazon box as well. I wonder how much ended up on the floorboard of the UPS truck?I tried uploading 2 images of the millet, but they don't seem to be online now.

exceptionally large sprays
I'm very impressed with this product. The sprays are very, very large--I've never seen such large millet sprays. And I like that the stems are still attached.I cut the stems off and keep them as a chew toy for my cockatiel. She enjoys them, esp. when I hold them for her, it's one way we can interact together and she still gets her chewing in.Because the sprays are so large, a single spray will last my single cockatiel several days. I simply rotate them for her. They smell nice and fresh. I empty the entire shipping box when it arrives and didn't see any mold, or insects. All the sprays in the entire box are consistently large, not just the ones on top so the value for the money is well worth it.I will definitely be buying this product for my bird from now on.Feb. 2023. I ordered this product again with disastrous results. Many of the sprigs were not full sprigs, in fact, they weren't even half full of millet. Most had to be thrown away. So much of the millet was on the bottom of the box that it made a hideous mess all over my carpeting. This box was a compete waste of money with the majority of the product unusable. I'm angry and feel cheated since I'd been so pleased with my previous purchase. On top of which I now have to spend lots more money to be sure my bird has her favorite treat.
