This is a well-written book with delicious recipes and high-quality pictures, and I'm glad I bought it. I recommend it to anyone exploring their kitchen repertoire and interested in trying out various authentic African cuisines. Buy it!

Great for newbies
Tried jollof rice and my Nigerian finace loved it!! The recipes are easy to follow with great photos. I also like the section that talks about stocking the pantry, since I'm learning all the blends of spices. This book lives up to it's name, giving a range of recipes from different parts of Africa. Would highly recommend!!

Good photos, clear writing, interesting ideas.
This seems to be an excellent cookbook. My husband picked it up to look at and got all excited to make some of the dishes. I haven’t cooked any yet, we just got it, but the recipes look very clear and easy to understand, and the photos are lovely. It is more of a continental survey, don’t expect in-depth coverage of a single country, more of a sampler. I do like that the recipes and flavors seem distinct from each other, not the same thing over and over. Looking forward to using some of the recipes very soon!

The BEST African recipe book!
I love this recipe book and I’ve been looking forever for an African cookbook. Clear & beautiful pictures of the meals, clear instructions with concise measurements. I really like Evi Aki’s introduction about her journey and how she became interested in cooking too (so relatable). She even includes pages about stocking your pantry for cooking African meals. Thank you so much for this book!

Enjoying the recipes
Really like the recipes but the book could have used a little more editing. Would also appreciate more insight into some of the more esoteric ingredients that are not readily available where I live.

Flavorful food and easy to follow instructions!
My family and I are always on the lookout for intensely flavorful recipes, and many of our recent favorites are African dishes. While searching for new recipes, I stumbled across the author’s site and quickly ordered her book. What a delight! Everything I have made from it has been absolutely scrumptious, and the harissa chicken on the cover is now my husband and son’s favorite meal. The directions are clear and most recipes are perfectly suitable for weeknight cooking. I can’t recommend it enough!

Great Book, Recipes are A1
Great, flavorful recipes! Recipes are quite easy to make and follow. A few ingredients can be hard to acquire, but I recommend following Aki's advice to the 'T'!

Delicious and easy
This is a great book for the average American cook who wants to try making some international dishes. You don't have to completely restock your kitchen or know how to source lots of foods you don't usually buy. I tried recipes from this cookbook alongside recipes from another cookbook by a renowned restaurant chef. The ones by Aki were much easier and tasted just as good.
